Victory by the Rouge!

Look at that preparation and awareness in defending against the rouge. Despite the fact it didn’t work out, the Cats had multiple players back, the one player at least made a vain attempt at the volley in the air to the other player who immediately punted it back into the field.

This as compared with the Argos last week who initially neglected to put anyone in the end zone.

Seems in those good old best 2 of 3 Western Conference finals, it would often come down to potential rouges to tip or even decide the game. With the winds howling and the snow blowing, the teams would line up with the kicker on one side and two or three receivers in the end zone to receive and kick it back.

And it often wasn’t a field goal try, just a punt to go for the rouge. Probably just exists in my fuzzy memory, but made the games uniquely CFL.
