Thanks again to Sportsnet for doing absolutely nothing for Canadian Football .
It’s more of U Sports wanting to go alone and it set back football instead of improving it.
Whoever was in charge back in 2013 really dropped the ball with that decision.
As of 2019, CBC Sports and TVA Sports broadcasts the national U Sports playoff games, namely the Mitchell Bowl, the Uteck Bowl, and the Vanier Cup, succeeding Sportsnet (who aired it from 2013 to 2018)
Now Sportsnet seldom mentions CFL or U Sport Football .
Ain’t that the truth.
I will start/post a thread for this coming Saturdays football game between the Montréal Carabins vs UBC Thunderbirds who will compete for the 2023 Vanier Cup at Richardson Stadium - Queens University.
Cheers Abbey
Vanier Cup Final host for 2025 goes to Regina.
Laval gets to host the 2026 Vanier Cup Final.
Queens University = 2024 Vanier Cup Final
Shall use this thread for discussion on the Vanier Cup featuring UBC Thunderbirds vs Montréal Carabins. Getting set for Kickoff shortly - enjoy the game.
Cheers Abbey
Not a good start for MTL,
picked off
UBC pick off on the Carabins opening drive
Big sack by UBC - excellent punt, T-Birds start from their own 5 yard line.
UBC concedes a safety - Montreal leads 2-0
Didn’t see that thread so I started one called Vanier Cup 2023. I will try to delete my thread.
Great game so far
No, I suggest to keep your thread that you started WOOFDOG - 9-6 Carabins lead at halftime.
Ok
I could never figure out how to delete it anyway .
UBC defender intercepts pass and falls to ground. No contact. Could he get up and run?
Depends whether the referee judges that he “gave himself up” (i.e., ended the play).
2 big OLinemen for UBC , Benedet and Manu will be first rounders in the CFL Draft .
If your knee touches the ground you are considered down.
Ok thanks. So different from CFL.
