USPORTS Football 2024

The wait is over—university-level football in Canada is kicking off!

The full schedule is available here. Preseason action starts today, August 17th, with the official season opener on August 23rd.

Feel free to use this thread for all things USPORTS Football. I hope to catch a lot more university-level football this year so I can be better prepared for next year’s CFL draft.

Big man INT leads to a Touchdown!

Awesome catch by one of the top receivers in the OUA Kaseem Ferdinand!

Believe Kaseem is the son of former CFL player Denny Ferdinand.

Is that ever cool! I’m going to be catching a lot more USPORTs action this year so I’ll have to keep an eye out for him too!

Unfortunately looks like AUS added a paywall for this season to go along with CW ($40 to watch all football for the season EXCLUDING playoffs). Not sure where or how to view RSEQ other than the games that are on RDS, and OUA is adding a paywall effective October 25, which I assume will be priced the same as CW and AUS.

Crazy how watching all USports football is more expensive than a whole year of TSN+ which gives you all CFL games plus a whole bunch of other pro leagues.

This is incredibly unfortunate. I saw AUS added the paywall but wasn’t aware OUA was doing the same. That’s a shame. Maybe I won’t be watching as much USPORTs as I thought.

If U Sports were smart (not likely) they can have some of there games on TSN+ (they have other small time leagues on the app).

Not sure why the head of U Sports and TSN aren’t getting together to, at least, start the conversation.

Did watch Georgia Tech upset the 10th ranked Florida State 24-21 (available on TSN2) but can’t get any Canadian University Football).

The Northern 8 to that was proposed back in 2015 would have been a start.

I get it the Ontario block didn’t want in. Instead start without them and maybe they might join in the future.

Just google the Northern 8 and you will have an idea about what the intent was.

I know OUA Tv was normally like $10 for a monthly pass though passes aren’t available till early next month. Its free to watch games till October but likely pass will be worth it again for longer to watch replay. I mainly watch mcmaster & gee gee games

Canada West starts up this Friday.

Wonder who has the inside track for the Vanier Cup this year.

Also haven’t heard anything from SFU joining Canada West .

TSN wants nothing to do with U Sports

Is incredibly stupid is what it is and as usual for Canadian University sports, incredibly short sighted.
They need exposure, not the pennies that this will bring in. STUPID
