Tyrone Jones

As you probably know, Tyrone Jones passed away June 10 from brain cancer.

Jones played linebacker for the Bombers from 1983-87 and from 1989-91. He holds the club's career sack record of 98 and the CFL record for QB sacks in a Grey Cup game with four and most total Grey Cup sacks (five).

He was named the Grey Cup MVP in the 1984 Grey Cup game, was named the league's top defensive player in 1985 and was a five-time division all-star. He retired in 1993 and is survived by three sons.

He should have been named one of the Greatest Bombers of all time, but his name was somehow overlooked. He's got 3 kids and if we overlook him now, we should be ashamed of ourselves.

I hope the club set up a college fund for his kids and present it to the family at the Stadium while retiring his number.
