Tyrice Beverette

Why would the brain trust not resign him? Where do the AL’s find Speaker, Rambo, White, Behar and Mack?

He would have had to be patient for another 2 years on the bench if he stayed with us in 2022-2023.
LBs were not a weakness going into 2022 for the Cats.
In hindsight, yes he is better then any of our current crew.

Who would have replaced, Simoni?, Santos Knox? Thurman?

Agreed. At the time, Simoni was in his physical prime and playing at an elite level. No one in their right mind was going to sit him to make room for an unknown guy.

For the players schmenger mentioned above:

Behar is a national injury fill-in until KJG and Philpot are healthy. White is currently on the practice roster with Mack’s signing and, I fear, may be cut loose in the offseason. He’s done well enough but that devastating knee injury that kept him out the past 1.5 years has taken away his speed.

Behar was a free agent I hoped that cats would’ve taken a look at.

A lot better than what the cats have

Same. I was shocked he went unsigned for so long. He’s not only a good receiver—he’s a good Canadian receiver.

Who is starting the Mauldin, Acklin, Castillo/Lirum and Santos Knox threads?

We get good guys. We just don’t keep them.

The players you are speaking of are line-backers. I’m talk slots and wide outs.

You started a thread called Tyrice Beverette and asked the question of why wouldn’t the brain trust re-sign him. Yes, you did then list a bunch of Alouettes receivers to (assumedly) suggest the Montreal scouting and recruiting does a good job, but your initial question was why didn’t the Ticats re-sign him (Tyrice Beverette). @GiasoneItaliano gave a very well thought answer as to why the Ticats brain trust did not re-sign Tyrice Beverette.

Just in case there’s some confusion, Tyrice Beverette is a linebacker.

Behar was drafted by Edmonto and on his third team.

Thanks for the reply. The realize Beverette is a linebacker. There is no question Montreal has a far better scouting and recruitment system. The 2- 9 record speaks volumes.

I think we have enough issues to deal with in 2024, so maybe let’s not start questioning decisions from 2 and a half years ago.

It’s a valid discussion. Some of those decisions from a couple of years ago are in fact the reason why we are having issues in 2024.

Well that’s not addressing the current 2 - 9 record? Let’s talk about no Grey Cup wins since 1999.
