WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced on Tuesday that they’ve signed general manager Kyle Walters to a two-year contract extension. Assistant GM/director of U.S. scouting Danny McManus and senior assistant GM/director of player personnel Ted Goveia will also remain with the club.
Great news for Bombers fans! Now Kyle Walters can get to work on signing the numerous free agents that Winnipeg has. Walters is as shrewd as they come and Danny and Ted are very important at scouting talent for the club.
The big questions now are, how much of the band will get back together? Who will leave in free agency? Who will retire? And who will replace them?
I am looking forward to the Canadian Mafia staying together for at least 2 more years. I am hopeful that the Bombers remain competitive through 2024 and possibly have a chance at winning a Grey Cup at home in 2025. How amazing would that be? Let’s Go Blue!
This news just made my day as I believe the Blue Bombers have the best staff in the league and signing Kyle along with Danny and Ted is great news. Having said this, making it to 4 straight Grey Cups is no small feat, let alone 5 but never say never
" one for the thumb " term is used when a player gets the 5th championship ring. Bettis of the Steelers used that phrase when he was on the team and won the 5th ring, What exactly are you putting on that thumb, Bombers won 2 rings in the last 4 years
