TSN reports Patrick and Parks were also released

"HAMILTON, Ont. -- Linebacker Markeith Knowlton, the CFL's outstanding player in 2010, was released Tuesday by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Also let go were defensive backs James Patrick and Terrance Parks.

The moves come following Hamilton's lopsided 37-0 road oss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday although Patrick didn't dress for that game.

"Markeith has been a respected member of this team during his time in Hamilton and his accomplishments are well documented," Ticats head coach and GM Kent Austin said in a statement. "We'd like to thank Markeith for his contributions and wish him success in the future."

The six-foot, 205-pound Knowlton was in his eighth CFL season and sixth with Hamilton. Patrick joined the Ticats this off-season as a free agent after spending five years with Saskatchewan.

Knowlton was named the CFL's outstanding player in 2010 after registering 71 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions, and six fumble recoveries.

Parks, 23, was in his first season with Hamilton.

The Ticats (1-3) host Saskatchewan (4-0) at Alumni Stadium in Guelph, Ont., on Saturday."

All True. Not surprised by Patrick, he passed his prime a few years back. As per Parks, I do not konw too much about him, but they must have seen something in the film

Lots of injuries on D and we cut 3 guys.Makes loads of sense.

All the best to both of these guys.

Could be that, at least, Webb and Breaux are ready to go again.

8) Patrick was a joke in his first 3 games here, he had no speed left at all.
Why do you think the Cats benched him in the last game ??

Saskatchewan knew that when they released him during the off season.

So who picks him up.....why the TiCats of course !!

Did this team not even bother to look at game film of him, in his last year with Sask. to realize this ??? <!-- s:roll: --><!-- s:roll: -->

Exactly! Who the hell signed him?

Both Patrick and Parks looked slow, so neither move is a big surprise. Knowlton, on the other hand, I thought got a raw deal being moved away from his ideal position, and then cut because he supposedly isn't as good as the next guy at the new position. And I'm still trying to figure out who on the team is better at either spot, aside from JJ, who could be next the way things are going.

It has now been confirmed that those two are back participating in practice and, although not yet updated on the roster, CFL Transactions shows that McCollough has been put on the 1-Game Injured List and Hinds has been activated from the PR
