TSN Power Ranking - After Week 1

Can't criticize the Week 1 Power Rankings, have to agree with TSN on the rankings:

I dunno. They have Winnipeg at Number 2, when they lost two exhibition games to the number 8 team and only managed a tie to the number 6 team.

If I were Calgary I'd be a bit miffed - after they trounced the team that beat Winnipeg in both exhibitions.

haha...that was my thinking too!

If the rankings were based on pre-season we'd do well every year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the bombers play their starters during the last exhibition (ie Glenn, Stegal and Co)?

I find TSN’s rankings pretty suspect to the whims of the author. It’s purported to be based on some mathematical calculation, but I don’t like it. I prefer Sportsnet’s.

Yeah these ranking just don't reflect week 1 performances. I could see if this was week 9 and their rankings reflected the culmination of the entire season, but this is week 1 and should only look at week 1.

Like I said before, judging by each team's performance, Saskatchewan despite winning, didn't look good at all and Montreal legitimately earned 1 point from scrimmage and 3 conceded safeties. Despite this, these teams placed 3 and 6, ahead of Edmonton and the Toronto who quite obviously had better performances against stiffer competition.

Hey derubemi can you not resize your sig pic.. it's making a mess of the forum width

Admin: There is a mod for auto resizing pics to big for the forum you might want to look into it

My view:

Calgary
B.C.
Edmonton
Winnepeg
Saskatchewan
Toronto
Montreal
Hamilton

My Power Ranking:

Calgary
Edmonton
Winnipeg
BC
Toronto
Saskatchewan
Hamilton
Montreal

I'll give Saskatchewan over Hamilton for winning but I don't see how either of Montreal or Saskatchewan would have performed any better than Hamilton against Calgary out of the gates.
