Black’s no damn good on Raptors’ games either. Just babbles on mindlessly, contradicting himself and others while slavering over his most recent man-crushes.
I'm sure we will see a change at TSN on the CFL for next season to a more streamlined approach with less crews on the broadcast and possible changes on the panel.
I know this year they have been trying different potential personalities like Mike Benevities, or moving Climie in or out, using Stegal more along with Schultz, even Dunigan has not been on regularly, using LaPolice more to offset the crew.
I hear through a friend at CTV who is (still employed) that TSN might be looking to a younger group on the panel next season and mixing up the Wendy's CFL broadcast group of experts.
Unfortunately TV ratings and Ad dollars are what effect every decision in broadcasting although the CFL has been good for TSN and Bell Media they have lost money in other areas that will have an overall effect on all sports broadcast media scene in Canada.
Pat you forgot about the over 100 Rogers media staff that were laid off in 2012 and the over 300 that were given their pink slips by the Blue Jays owner in 2014.
Just like the east pays for the billions given to the oil companies so money flows both ways…except Bombardier pays it back and the money stays in Canada
I doubt it. Rogers hasn’t been able to grow the NHL’s ratings enough to offset the huge cost, and this year the ratings aren’t improving at all. Unless the Leafs miraculously turn into contenders, they’re going to be eating a loss on it.
That’s why they stopped trying to poach the Olympics and now do combo deals with CBC. It doesn’t matter how prestigious it is to have if you lose a fortune on it. TSN’s got lots of other content for much lower cost to show instead, whereas Sportsnet is all in on hockey.
Once pick and pay comes out, I’ll likely just ditch Sportsnet outright. Given the variety of sports TSN has, it’d be a lot harder to do that and not miss something.
I think both TSN and Sportsnet will lose subscribers once pick and pay comes out and that is bad news for the CFL unless they can get some games moved to over the air stations like CTV.
I think most avid sports fans would pickup both Sportsnet and TSN assuming they are priced reasonably when pick and pay comes into effect next year. However some casual sports fans may decide to choose only one of the two. The timing couldn't be worse for TSN with the Jays so popular right now and Sportsnet also having the Stanley Cup Playoffs/hockey.
Much of the things other than the CFL that I watch on TSN - I can get enough of a fix for those sports elsewhere. Premier League soccer is on Sportsnet and NBC, NFL on CTV and American networks, NCAA football on American ndetworks, half the Leafs regional games are on Sportsnet, half the Raptors regional games are on Sportsnet.
Don't get me wrong - I'll pickup both - but were I TSN right now - I'd be more worried than if I was Sportsnet right now.

I've no wish to start a contest here, but what billions are those?
[/quote]
Really?
You are not awair of the billions that the feds give the oil companies?
And there is no contest here its a discussion

Some vague references to "subsidies" (their quotation marks)...not really the same thing as one company demanding a bailout.

But back to the topic at hand.

Vague references to subsidies?
Harper government has given big oil and pipeline companies more than $400 million to go green
A study released Thursday pegged federal “subsidies? for the industry at nearly $1.7-billion
G20 countries spend $450B a year on fossil fuel subsidies, study says
Common.. What is vague about that? But even still a subsidie is money that is given out
Where does it say that Bombardier is DEMANDING a bailout!
its all part of the discussion…The government bails out some and not others
Some they give away free money and other they give repayable loans…and others, nothing
