I am fairly shocked by this move. I really liked Jackson, but it is all rather surprising. Is this a sign Sanders may be done, and if so, who are they bringing in as backup RB?
I am also pleased to see him back. As for Sanders not sure whats going on there. They say injured, is he or is it a paper cut!! this will get Weston of the returns now I hope!!
I don't like Dressler on returns. He's far too valuable elsewhere, and it makes me uneasy. This seems like a decent move, but I'm also curious about Sanders...
I hope he's dropped the attitude from last season. All that complaining about "only" getting to do punt and kick returns and not playing as much defensive back was getting old last year. We have got good team dynamics this season, and dont need a me first player to come in and change that.
I'm happy with this. Can never have too much depth at any position especially experienced depth. Not sure on the status of Sanders, but I like Jackson back there a lot more than Dressler. Let Dress do punts in the dying seconds. He seems to thrive off of that.
Saunders - I am just convinced he is hurt. Tendinitus is what is being tossed around? What joint, elbows or knees. But when you are a speedster like him I am one to believe he's hurt and for more than one week.
Saunders has performed very well. Yes, against the Stamps he caught that ball on goal line, then next game two fumbles. I believe he is hurt, not demoted. Can't wait for his return because he has been a big part of our field position.
Ferri - plays corner, LB, teams and returns punts. In the doghouse with alot of penalties lately.
Tristan - plays corner and returns. We need a proven returner while Jock is getting better. They need multi use players as preached by coach. Tristan can likely play corner as well as Ferri.
That's what I read into it. I believe Ferri has played his way off the roster and Jock is hurt.
no offense to either Hughes or McHenry who are good players at the positions they play but if sheets should go down that will eliminate the running game.
Chamblain really having no choice as it has been Sheets and Sanders since day one of camp but if Sanders needs to be out for more than one game you can bet we will see some RBs come in this week.
The Riders are very deep and prepared I suspect that they already have some guys who may have plane tickets in hand on monday
That’s very true and God forbid if Sheets suffers an injury of sorts, however I was keying in on Hughes getting some running plays. Also if an injury happens to a (FB) [that’s what I meant to address] - McHenry could step in. Sometimes I word a statement wrong, thus cflsteve to the rescue
Great to see Jackson back. I think with sanders hurt, brown would have steeped in as returner or RB but he is hurt too. We do need an RB backup. I hate to say it but what about a more humble (unemployed) Cory Boyd? He is a beast when he is healthy. A bit of a head case but Chamblin seems to be able to handle those types quite well.
Garret has also recently been released and also has experience in returning Kick Offs. Although Jackson was the main returner for both punting and kick offs I though I saw Sheets also in as the second deep guy on Kick offs.
Although I think you are right and Boyd is a much better RB and the Riders have a strong veteran Locker room as well as a strong staff that includes not just Chamblain but also cortez as OC.
Boyd being a north south RB could work out well as the second deep guy on Kick offs but would he be able to play other STs like coverage teams, Running behind that Oline could really give the Riders two strong RBs
Very happy with CC sitting Ferri for this game - hopefully the time-out will give him a chance to get his head on straight and he can come back as a valuable member of the team instead of a liability. Would have loved to be a fly-on-the-wall in the dressing room at half-time to hear what CC said to DA - whatever it was, DA played a better game in the 2nd half - kudos on the interception, DA - play clean, keep you mouth shut and you will do well.
Tristan did well - glad to see him on the team again - I think he is just really happy to have a job and be playing with a winning team - doubt we will see any whining from him this time around. We do need Jock back though - hope to hear he is healthy for the Banjo Bowl - he can be so explosive on those returns.
