Trawling and Trolling for Cranky Montreal Fans

Now this give me an idea. . . in the offseason, to kill time, we should start a thread about everyone's first CFL game. . . each person could post their remembrances of their first game. . . could be fun. . . but let's hold it till after this season. . .

I was born in Toronto, raised in Stratford and then lived 15 or so years between Waterloo and Hamilton before moving to BC. It makes no difference where I live… I am a Ticat fan and geography will never change that. I have learned to really like the Lions also but they can never be more than a distant 2nd to the Cats.

The question is who do you cheer for when the Cats and Als play? We both know it’s the Als. That makes you a Ticat fan as much as I’m a Lions fan. That equates to not truly being a fan because what “fan” could ever cheer against the team they claim to be a fan of.

As the saying goes… there can only be one.

Ok...Mike...you're older than me too...Let's keep this up...and I'm feeling younger and younger with each new posting...

Yeah, Madjack, that would be fun seeing everyone memories of their first game...and in turn playing detective to find out all the ages!!!!!! Seriously, though, let's do that during the offseason.

There’s only one Zenstate.

I cheer for both the Kitchener Rangers and Guelph Storm so by the definition put forth I’m not a fan of either.

How about we all use our own definition to determine if we’re a fan of any particular team and not tell others whether they are or not?

I’m not trying to be a smart aleck or anything, but who do you cheer for when K plays G?

Good question; wish I had a good answer for you. It depends: on which arena I’m in, whether one team needs the win or not, and sometimes I just appreciate the effort from both teams and a good game. My story gets worse - I will cheer for almost any CHL team (except London  ). During the Tyler Hall years in Windsor it was almost impossible to not appreciate the Spitfires. The Petes, 67s, Greyhounds, St. Mike’s, Colts, etc, they’re all good in my books (ok, even London…sometimes).

The point is - where does someone get off telling someone else they are not a fan because they also cheer for another team in the league? Especially from a guy who maybe gets to one game a year. Barney cheers for the Cats and blue team; is he not a fan of either?
