Training Camp afternoon rainy day and 60 yard pass Burris

ChrisW good post by the way. Now Jeremy where have been Yoda. We have been waiting for your answer on the Stamps offensive line and guess what no hear from you. Several posters were wondering why you felt the Stamps had such a bad O line oh did read that about Nealon looked pretty shaky to me 4 plays intercept ouch. Now until he gets accustomed to his receivers I guess one hop Crandell will do.

I've already posted why I feel the Calgary O-Line is so poor, but I will re-itterate: Worst rushing game in the league. The O-Line couldn't open up running lanes for the backs so they didn't gain anything. Don't feed me that sob story about your coaches not wanting to run the ball I could care less because the fact is when they DID run the ball they still did poorly.

I wouldn't go that far and start saying Crandell's going to take over. Nealon wasn't supposed to play much the first preseason game. And he didn't. He caught a bad break with that int, anybody else would have probly pulled that baby in. Then he wouldn't have looked so bad. But I must remind you people that Nealon hasn't played for a year. As far as Calgary's O line goes it's probly not the worst but it definately isn't the best either. You tell me who you think has the worst O line.

I agree Jeremy, Calgary didn't give up a lot of sacks but when they did rush the ball they were terrible at it rushing for 4.6 yrds per carry. That's 2nd worst in the league. Edmonton was the worst at 4.2yrds per carry. So I guess Edmonton had the worst O-line in the league last year. But Calgary's isn't that great obviously.

Well let me tell you both. first off there was no running game until 7 games left in the season. Mind you you boys do not get to stay up to watch football that much because it shows in your knowledge of the game. Again if Nealon has been out for a year do you not think it would be a good idea to get this guy some reps so that he could complete passes and get use to his team mates after one year off. I thought so. So you feel Nealon will get these reps what in one game. I will tell you Hank and Nealon are in the same position they have to get use to their team mates. The more reps the quicker they start to be on the same page. Having Hank in for 2 quarters is necessary. Nelaon for four plays wow that will do it. DB is a joke. I like the guy but this wa a very dumb move.

I hate to say it but I agree with you. I dont think Barrett is a joke. The hell with Gile and Butler they won't be playing anyway. Greene needs reps I totally agree. He hasn't played for a year its gonna take time for him to get used to everything about the game. And just taking hits again. I was pissed when I found out a couple days before the game, that he would hardly be playing. Doesn't really make sense to me. He better get at least 2 quarters against B.C.

P.S. Its a good thing were playing Winnipeg for our season opener lol!!!
He should get a lot of practise in that game.

Well Chris the only thing I do not understand is why Nealon is not playing more then 4 plays. He to has to get accustomed to his team. To tell you the truth Danny Barrett is one of the nices guys you ever want to meet. I am not to keen on the puppet master RS. but the main thing is if the fans in Regina like him then that is good. Gee you have to keep Jeremy off sugar.

Take Care ChrisW

I agree Nealon should've had more time in the game on Tuesday, but saying he and Hank are in the same boat when it comes to learning team-mates, no way. Nealon has almost identical receiving corps as he did in 2003 so he knows his team-mates well. Burris hasn't ever played with his receivers so he doesn't know their tendencies yet.

Also, you said that the reason Calgary's rushing average was so low is because they didn't run the ball the first seven games? it's a rushing AVERAGE it doesn't matter how many times you ran the ball, theoretically it would be easier to have a higher average with less attempts. However, Calgary still didn't even average 5 yards a carry.

…sigh…Jeremy, please do well in math this year…yes an average should be no different based on recording data over 18 events versus 11 events, if you are analyzing an event where frequency is not performance based…given that running the ball is a ‘learned’ activity, the activity should be better honed to perfection the more times you exercise the activity…therefore having a running game for 18 games versus 11 games should provide a higher average yards per carry…and I still don’t buy your argument on the O-line, chris at least put some effort into his opinion…semantics 101: next time use words like ‘I feel’ or ‘In my opinion’ and then no one can jump all over your wild statements because, hey, it’s Jeremy’s thoughts man…

Well, let's see here, let's say you run the ball 5 times in an entire season (extreme I know...but just for arguments sake) so you run the ball 5 times in a season you gain 5 yards the first try, 7 the second try, maybe 5 again the third, then you bust one loose for 15, then you run about a 4 yarder. You're rushing average for the season is 7.2 which is very high. if you ran the ball say 200 times in a season it would be much much lower than that.

Keep dreaming Jeremy!

Dreaming about what? He was just stating facts....

Ya Jeremy sounds pretty accurate to me. As far as my wild opinions redandwhite, I just gave you to numbers, simply stating Edmonton was the worst running team Calgary was the second worst. Ya that sounds pretty wild and crazy. Lay off the sauce for a bit okay buddy.

First of all you and Jermey really need to allow people out side your family express their opinion. In my opinion I believe the Riders are weak at QB since Burris left take my opinion or not that is up to you. Nealon even after many reps will still put those floaters up for grabs. Oh ya he through 75 yards big deal did he hit a target, and how long did it take to get there. You better hope the running game is their goal because it will be a long season for you rider fans. Sure it is preseason and yes you can not take to much on this. But playing ones 2nd stringers versus 1st stringers are excuses. And after reading many Rider fans posts they are good at excuses. After all you are Canada’s next year team.
