Tiger-Cats vs. Stamps Play-by-Play Game Thread: 10/20/2012

Tiger-Cats vs. Stampeders: October 20, 2012

It's that time again. Tiger-Cats gameday is here again. And so it is time to post the thread for posting about the game as it happens. If you want to post about the game as it's happening, this is the place to do so. You can think of this thread as being like a virtual living room where fans discuss the game with each other. You can think of it
as being like a virtual broadcast booth where what happens in the game is mentioned and commented on while it's happening. You can also think of it as being like Twitter but without the character limit. There may be many posts here tonight, so those participating in this thread may need to do plenty of page refreshing. But in any case, here we go.

WHAT – Tiger-Cats Gameday. Tiger-Cats vs. Stampeders.

WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Calgary Stampeders.

WHERE - McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta.

WHEN - Friday, October 20th, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. EDT. (5:00 p.m. local time.)

HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) or Y108 (107.9 MHz FM) broadcasting from Hamilton.

game's scoreboard whenever it becomes available, which will likely be just after the opening kickoff.

This team has needed to catch up with the Esks and that other Ontario team in the standings. And after both of those teams lost last night, they have a chance to be only two points behind them. However, Winnipeg won, meaning that this team also needs this win to get themselves ahead of the Bombers in the standings. As was the case with several of the last Ticat games, this team needs this win very much. And a win certainly will not come easily against a good Calgary team. But as is often said, you never know what can happen in this league. Can this team seize this opportunity and actually do what many would say it has a very slim chance of doing tonight? In any case, I say...

Go Ticats!

Hi BYF! I should be here tonight for the carnage...

Oski Wee Wee,

Russ

More on tonight's tilt at http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=407763 .

It was my 47th birthday yesterday, so a win would be a nice present...preferably with one of those MIB Neuralyzers to wipe out the memory of the season to date.

Oski Wee Wee,

Russ

90 minutes before game time and it's already dropped to 0 degrees in Calgary. It's snowing and, with the winds from the North
(blowing from left to right as you watch on TV) @ 21 km/hr with gusts to 33 km/hr, the Windchill is minus 5. Hope the equipment trunks were well packed for this trip.

Quick correction my post above -- that wind will blow from left to right as the Ti-Cats feel it at their bench, but it'll be right to left as we see it on TV. If the horse gets to gallop, he'll have the wind at his tail for the first length of the field.

A must win game. Even more than last week's must-win-game. And the week before that's must-win-game. And the week before that (wait, they DID win that one) Anyway, the TiCats must win.

In addition to the regulars of late -- Kelly and Hennessey -- the Reserves are Jacquies Smith (in favour of Boudreaux and Peguese) and Marcel Young, who's been listed at the starter, ahead of Tisdale, the past three games.

I'm excited to see what Domonique Harris can do. His highlight video was impressive.

Burris loves a wet ball. I predict he will fumble at least 3 times tonight.

Will the Cats be force-fed a lot of "Cornish" hen, washed down with "Glenn" Livet?

(Couldnt resist that)

Hi Everyone
It's a MUST win for the Ti-Cats. If the Cats win all 3 remaining games and beat Toronto by more than 9 points the Cats can still get 2nd place. I know that's kind of funny but that's what has to happen.
It's just about game time
Go Cats

TV's on, beer's cold, Ticats shirt on, laptop ready to go, and I got my souvenir football from the '99 Grey Cup at hand.

OSKEE WEE WEE! Let's keep the horsey in it's stall.

Hi folks.

Well, I don't have see any problems with those decisions. Especially the one about scratching Young.

He sure will be a player to watch, being in JJ's place.

Sounds like you're ready.

Game on!

Armstead starts them at their 40.

Go D!

Glenn fumbles, we recover!

Alright, let's see how Burris do with good field position and with snow falling in their faces!

How did they do?

First play: Burris to Grant for TD!

Grant jogs in and makes a snow angel!

7-0 us!

As the Wendy's girl says, "Now, that's better." What a start. TD Grant.

And love the snow angels in the end zone.

TOUCHDOWN!! Grant

There's a good start

GO CATS!!

Nice quote from Grant: "It ain't cold out here, we're just getting warmed up!"

Oh crap, 83 yard kickoff return by Armstead.

But wait... another fumble recovery by us?! (this'll likely be challenged by Huf.)

Is it our ball?

He took 3 steps. .thats a fumble!!
