Tiger-Cats vs. Lions Play-by-Play Game Thread: 10/12/2012

Tiger-Cats vs. Lions: October 12, 2012

It's that time again. Tiger-Cats gameday is here again. And so it is time to post the thread for posting about the game as it happens. If you want to post about the game as it's happening, this is the place to do so. You can think of this thread as being like a virtual living room where fans discuss the game with each other. You can think of it as being like a virtual broadcast booth where what happens in the game is mentioned and commented on while it's happening. You can also think of it as being like Twitter but without the character limit. There may not be many posts here tonight, as at least some of those who post here in these forums will be at the game. But in any case, here we go.

WHAT - Tiger-Cats Gameday. Tiger-Cats vs. Lions.

WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the British Columbia Lions.

WHY - To see if the Ticats can catch up to Edmonton and ensure they leave Winnipeg behind them in the standings as they try to make the playoffs.

WHERE - Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario. (And this will be the final night game the Ticats play at IWS.)

WHEN - Friday, October 12th, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) or Y108 (107.9 MHz FM) broadcasting from Hamilton.

Television: TSN.

Internet: Visit http://www.900chml.com and click the “listen live? link, or simply click here to listen to CHML now.

game's scoreboard whenever it becomes available, which will likely be just after the opening kickoff.

Tonight, this Ticat team takes on the defending champions, and the team with the CFL's best record, the B.C. Lions. It may not seem like this Ticat team may have that much of a chance of winning this game. But this Ticat team has done well against those other cats lately. They nearly defeated the Lions in their house earlier this year. And the last time these two teams played at IWS, about one year ago, you may remember that the Ticats not only won, but blew out this B.C. team. And one has to remember that this Ticat team has not been that easy to beat in its own house this year. Those are reasons to consider this game winnable. And so now the only thing I have left to say in this game thread opening post before this final game the Ticats play under the Friday night lights at Ivor Wynne Stadium is...

Go Ticats!

Might be wise to stock up on pain killers.

Thanks, BYF. Looking forward to the game. We do tend to win the odd game - 3rd, 5th, 11th, 13th - and this is the 15th, so the "odds" are with us. No?

Weather for the game is cold but dry. Burris plays better in dry conditions, so that's a plus; not sure yet about the cold. Guess we'll see tonight. And we'll see how we play without two starting LBs. (So, how many starters are on IR now?) Fortunately, BC is without two of their top receivers, so maybe our DBs will catch a break (may be the only thing they can catch).

I think this one will be close, but I think we might just squeak a win out of it.

Oskee Wee Wee!

I see another bunch of int. by Burris , and a good game by LULY. And the coach can blame the lose because of injuries. :thdn:

Thank you for all the game threads you've started BYF. It takes a lot of time to put all that info into the first post.

Can we say this is a "must win"?

I've been critical of Obie's drafting these past few years, but looking at the Lions depth chart we're in much better n/i shape. If Andrew Harris goes down they are in a lot of trouble. Further review of each team's Injured List is revealing: Lions 4 - TiCats 16.

IMHO the keys to this game will the new OLine working together to give Hank enough time to STALA. On Defence we need enough pressure to force Lulay into rushed throws giving our Secondary a chance to pick a couple passes. It should also be a nice battle of return specialists.

Last evening game at IWS!

Oskie Wee Wee

Lions - 22
Hamilton - 26

Thanks BYF as always. i will be here, typing fingers limber and at the ready!

Oski Wee Wee,

I wonder if peguese will be dressing for the game. they have 22 imports on the 46 and Kelly will most likely be ascrtach at receiver. Yhey have brought in two fres D lineman onat DT and one at RE to start. Bordeaux is not starting so maybe he will be scrtched as Pegeuse is also a great special teams player. the D back field is crowded. Ewbb has moved to safety over bucknor and Beswick is a top special teamer they are both NI's as well as two NI's at one of the CB spots. Tisdale is not starting so he may also be odd man out. that would get pegues into the game tonight

If the recent pattern continues (win-loss-win-loss), this should be a blowout win: 46-21 for TiCats.

See you there!

Well... with the disappointment of today's stadium fias..... err.. unveiling, my hopes that a win tonight will help aleviate the pain a bit...

I'm still embarrassed by that...... thing!

Thanks for the final night game at Ivor Wynne thread BYF.
I want the Cats to win and I took them on my Rona picks but I'm not so sure that will happen. The defence is wrecked with injuries and the O-line isn't much better. Burris may be able to put up points but the defence will give up just as many. It could come down to who has the ball last.
Let's go Cats

Not getting my hopes too high for this one. Basically it's just a football game on TV.

What's the issue with the stadium?

I've made my thoughts on it quite clear in the Stadium thread....

Of interest to note, this weekend all four games have playoff implications for the Ti-Cats. I hope my wife doesn't mind me hogging the TV all weekend...

No coverage in the US for tonights game or any game this weekend.
anyone have a link that works for any on-line broadcast?

Hi folks!

They just reported on the CHML that Bob Young will receive a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. Not really sure what that is but it's something from the Queen. Good for him.

Howdy Russ..
