Tiger-Cats vs. Eskimos Play-by-Play Game Thread: 8/8/2009

Tiger-Cats vs. Eskimos: August 8, 2009

Tiger-Cats gameday is here again. And so the time to post the thread for posting about the game as it's happening has come. So I'll get it started off once again, as it seems it's I'm expected to get these threads started off. In any case, here we go.

WHAT – Tiger-Cats Gameday: Tiger-Cats vs. Eskimos.

WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Edmonton Eskimos.

WHY – To see if the Ticats can stay in 2nd place in their division, catch up to Montreal, and demonstrate that they can defeat a team that is considered a good one.

WHERE - Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario.

WHEN - Saturday, August 8th, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. EDT.

HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) or Y108 (107.9 MHz FM) broadcasting from Hamilton.

Television: TSN.

Internet: Visit http://www.900chml.com and click the “listen live? link, or simply click here to listen to CHML now.

Click here to view CFL.ca's live scoreboard for recent games. You can click the link to view this game's scoreboard whenever it becomes available, which will likely be just after the opening kickoff.

Click here to view the game preview on Ticats TV.

Click here to view the Tiger-Cats depth chart. Not good to see Floyd and Adams not on it, but interesting to see Murphy starting at DT.

Click here for tonight's weather forecast. At the time I'm posting this, there is an 80% probability of precipitation this evening, and close to 1mm of rain is expected. Winds of 10 km/h are expected. And at time this was posted, it was expected that the temperature will be about 19 degrees Celsius.

The Esks may be hitting their stride, and defeating them would make the Ticats more respected. The Alberta teams don't tend to do well in IWS, this game is winnable, and so I say...

Go Ticats!

By the looks of this live radar, the heaviest rain appears to be heading south of us

Thanks for the prep, BYF!

Oski Wee Wee,

is the game going to be blacked out on tsn?

8) NO

perfect! thanks!

No, but the skies don't look too bright. Umbrellas are for the beach - not the stadium.

Amen, Ock. By the way, have I mentioned how much I like your sig line??

Im here in Quebec City with my wife and youngest with my son and his new wife taking the tickets and going to the game at home.Cheer on the team for me, guys. I wont get back to the hotel room until it`s over. :frowning:

What the hell does that have to do with TSN??....lol

The wet field and wet ball may just play into our major strength right now.......ie: the running game.....with proper taping of the shoes, the correct shoes for conditions and some great blocking, we may just have the advantage here today.....the kicking game may also favour us if Setta can crank off those high arcing punts which may slip through the hands of the guy fielding them. I see at least a few turnovers caused by wet footballs. Hopefully, it's the Esks who turn it over to us and not the other way around.

Thanks for another excellent game day startup thread, BobYoungFan.

The Ticats and the Eskimos have each improved significantly since week one of the 2009 regular season. It should be a good one, albeit a rainy one, at Ivor Wynne Stadium tonight. Go Cats Go!

I would fined it very amusing if Montez Murphy was a real monster tonight and got five sacks. Go Monty... Thanks BYF

I'd like to thank all those who complimented me on how I started off this thread.

The pregame show is on CHML now, and there are a few interesting updates that have been posted to Drew's blog:

Ticat scratches:

The following players are on the Cat 46-man roster but won't play tonight.

#30 RB Terry Caulley
#53 OL Cedric Gagne-Marcoux
#94 DL Khari Long
#99 DL Jermaine Reid

Maurice Mann out

One of the Eskimos best wideouts has a hip pointer and has been scratched.

But there might not be as much of a passing game if it'll rain as expected. Still, will AB3 be used more often? He has been learning the offence, apparently, good to know he did not misplace his playbook again. And how will Cobb do against a team not named the B.C. Lions? Will Ray still manage to get many passing yards against us? Will both Murphy and Thompson be players who will haunt their former team? And of course, one has to wonder if Glenn will replace Porter, and if so, when?

Hi guys, it's game time
If you think there is rain there you should be here. We're having a typhoon, some parts of Taiwan have had 1,300 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. You have never seen rain like what you can get here during a typhoon.
If the Cats can play as ferocious as this storm we're having here they should do pretty well

Howdy peoples.... time for an Eskimo ass kicking parrrty!!!!

It should be a great game, IMHO!

Crowd looks a little thin

Well, some Ticat fans might be willing to sit through a typhoon if that means seeing the Ticats win.

We receive, McDaniel gets us to start at our 45!

Great return for McDaniel to start the game!!
