Tiger-Cats gameday is here once again. And so the play-by-play game thread for discussion of the game as it happens is due to be posted. Today’s game is the annual Hall of Fame Game, and congratulations to Greg Battle, Dave Knight, Rocco Romano, Pierre Vercheval, and, of course, Darren Flutie, on being inducted into the hall. But this game will be about the present and future of the Ticats, as the Casey Printers era begins for us. And so it will be interesting to discuss this game as we document in this thread what occurs at the beginning of this era.
WHAT – Tiger-Cats Gameday: Tiger-Cats vs. Blue Bombers.
WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
WHY – To see the beginning of the Casey Printers era, and to see if it will get off to a good start. And also to see if Printers actually might be able to get this 1-9 team somewhere this year.
WHERE - Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario.
WHEN - Saturday, September 15th, at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) broadcasting from Hamilton, or CJOB (680 kHz AM) broadcasting from Winnipeg.
Television: TSN. The game is available in HD.
Internet: Visit www.900chml.com and click the “listen live? link, or simply click here to listen to CHML now.
You can also visit www.cjob.com and click the “listen live? link if you would like to hear the game from the perspective of Winnipeg’s talking heads. And you can click here to listen to CJOB now.
It is also available via CFL broadband, which you can sign up for if you click here. It will also be available via TSN broadband, which you can view if you click here.

Click here to view the video game preview via Ticats TV. This video that is 5:49 in length consists mostly of excerpts of the Taaffe press conference, and excerpts of an interview with Printers. Excerpts of interviews with Curry and French are also part of this video.
Click here for view the entire Taaffe press conference. It is 23:24 length but many interesting things are said in it. As you might expect, much is said about Printers and the “Cliff’s Notes? version of the playbook he’ll be working with. Injury status of players, lack of roster continuity (the “revolving door? if you will) and roster changes are among other discussion topics discussed.
Click here for the Tiger-Cats depth chart. Good to see Printers listed there as the starting quarterback. Not good to not see Lumsden there at all.
Click here for that "interactive" depth chart.
Click here for this evening's weather forecast. Right now, there is a 10% probability of precipitation this evening. West winds of 5 km/h are expected. And at this time, it is expected that the temperature will be about 11 degrees Celsius.
And so this game is the first in this new era, and finally the Ticats are led by a quarterback who may just turn the team around. In this Hall of Fame Game, the player to watch may well be a future hall-of-famer. Will Printers turn this team around as some say he might? It will be interesting to find out if he can. Printers makes the Ticats a better team, but how much better? We begin to find out this evening.
Go Ticats!
