Tiger-Cats vs. Bombers Play-by-Play Game Thread (6/12/2008)

Tiger-Cats vs. Blue Bombers: June 12, 2008

This is it. Tiger-Cats gameday is here once again. We have been waiting for several months for this day to come, and it is finally here. And so also finally here, as per gameday tradition, is the first play-by-play game thread to appear here in a long time. The play-by-play game thread, where we post about and discuss the game as it is happening, is one that I for one have wanted to see here for a long time. And even though this is only a preseason game, we have an actual game to discuss as it happens, where individual performances may matter more than the final score. And now, enough with this preamble, time to try to get this thread off to a good start.

WHAT Tiger-Cats Preseason Gameday: Tiger-Cats vs. Blue Bombers

WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers

WHY To find out which players may or not be playing for their respective teams this regular season, and to give us a preview of what we may see in this 2008 season.

WHERE - Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario

WHEN - Thursday, June 12th, at 7:00 p.m. EDT

HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) and Y108 (107.9 MHz FM) broadcasting from Hamilton, and CJOB (680 kHz AM) broadcasting from Winnipeg.

You can also visit www.cjob.com and click the listen live link if you would like to hear the game from the perspective of Winnipegs talking heads. And you can click here to listen to CJOB now.

Click here to get CFL.ca's live scoreboard for recent games. You can click the link to view this game's scoreboard whenever it becomes available, likely just after the opening kickoff.

Click here to view the Tiger-Cats depth chart.

Click here to view the "interactive" version of the Tiger-Cats depth chart

Click here for tonight's weather forecast. Right now, there is a 10% probability of precipitation this evening and east winds of 20 km/h are expected. And at this time, it is expected that the temperature is expected to be about 19°C.

And so that first preseason game is finally here. This is the game where players on each team look to make an impression and could make or break some players' chances of making the team. And we will see if these new players that have been brought in can do well in a game situation. Who will be the players who we will be commenting on? Who will be considered players we will want on the roster, and who will be expected to be cut after this? We will find out as this season is finally on its way.

On a personal note, I would like to say that I am not sure if I should be considered the official game thread starter this year. I might not always be able to start these threads, and if anyone would like to get a chance to start these threads, that would be fine with me. But this thread is here, and regardless of who starts these threads, it will be good to have them again.

And now to say the two words that I have been waiting several months to say. And those words are...

Go Ticats!

Great to see you back at it BYF.

Can't tell you how nice it is to see play by play threads again. Time for some football!

BYF is already in Game Shape
Nice work Thanks

BYF is already in Game Shape already.
Nice work Thanks

What zen said!!

I'm so excited!! I can't believe it's here already.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what some of these guys can do in a game.

Does anyone know if there is a place on the internet where I could watch the game?

Living where I am I do not get Cable 14 nor cogeco, I'm on Rogers...........

Thank you BYF, yet another amazing game-day thread started by you.

I'm just hoping for a good game, the outcome means nothing. It's just all about seeing how the guys perform in individual matchups, there'll be no strategy at all so you can't really judge the qb's. If Porter or Chang has a huge game just remember it means nothing considering Mcmahon was the leading preseason qb one year ago.

The defensive packages they'll go up against tonight is nothing compared to what they'd face in a real game.

Am I nuts or does that sound like optimism creeping in?

Yes you are nuts....lol.

Just curiousity.

Great work BYF.

I vote for you to keep starting the "Game Day Threads".

It's very informative, professional looking and easy to navigate.

Thanks BYF!

Go Cats!

Oski Wee Wee,

Fifth year in a row I've missed the exhibition game. Working for a living sucks.

Thanks BYF!

Oskee Wee Wee!

I second what Madjack said. I don't get cable 14 here. They should play it on CH11, i get that.

Have a good thread. I'll be at the game in my regular seats in Sec. 30.

I won't be posting because they took the computer zone out last season.

My prediction for fans- 17,500. I hope there are more.

I'll be interested in hearing Ron Lancaster's debut in the broadcast booth on CHML......good luck to Ron....

Also, there have been some great overhead zoom-in shots from Chopper 11 all during the 6 pm CHCH newscast.

Beautiful weather for tonight's game .......Good Luck Cats!

(nice thread BYF !) 8)
