The time for both the Ticats season and the CFL season to begin has finally arrived. And so it is time for the play-by-play game thread for discussion of the first meaningful game of the Ticats and CFL seasons as it happens to be posted here. Much will be said about this game here in the next few days, and by posting here, you can be one of the first to comment on what happens during the game. Many of those who might usually post here will be at the game. But at least those who are unable to get to IWS can see this game on television, unlike the two preseason games. And so now, let us begin this thread for posting about this season opener (primarily) during the game.

WHAT – The season opener for both the CFL and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes.

WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes.

WHY – To see if the Ticats can get this 2008 season off to a good start.

WHERE - Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario.

WHEN - Thursday, June 26th, at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) and Y108 (107.9 MHz FM) broadcasting from Hamilton.

Television: TSN.

Internet: Visit www.900chml.com and click the "listen live" link, or simply click here to listen to CHML now.
Or visit www.y108.ca and click the "listen live" link there, or simply click here to listen to Y108 now.

Click here for tonight's weather forecast. Right now, there is a 40% probability of precipitation this evening and west winds of 15 km/h are expected. And at this time, it is expected that the temperature is expected to be about 24°C. And the forecast for later tonight? Dark. (R.I.P., George Carlin.)

And so here we are. The long-awaited season opener for this 2008 season, which we have waited for since the end of the 2007 season, is finally here. Will this 2008 season be different from previous ones for the Ticats? On this day, we hope it this season will be different from previous ones in that it will begin with a win. We have come to understand the importance of getting off to a good start. And it would be even more important for that to happen against a team the Ticats may be competing with in the standings this year. A new season is finally here, and having said that, there is only one more thing I have left to say...

Go Ticats!

No more rehearsing and hearsing our parts
We know every part by heart

And oh what heights we'll hit

Alright, so Jesse puts two in the endzone and runs for 116 yards. Casey hits Mitchel in the back of the endzone for another and puts up a solid 240 yards passing with a few rushes of his own for an extra 40 on the ground.

Setta hits 3 FGs and adds a pair of punt singles.

Montreal struggles to get anything going early but puts up a futile effort near the end for a measly 17 points by... who really cares?

Anyways:

HAM 32
MTL 17

Our mighty Ti-CATS 24.
Alouettes 10.

Time to bring this thread back to the top.
That's where we need it for the next few hours.
Great job, as usual, BYF.

Now, let's get ready for our first victory of the season.

Oski Wa Wa...

No more rehearsing and hearsing our parts
I certainly hope that we don't "hearse" our parts. That would be deadly. I'm scared stiff about this.

Sorry, Tom. You got that one word wrong.... it's nursing a part. I suppose that I wouldn't mind if Richard Nurse was playing tonight. He was a decent player for us.
