If Kalinic was still a TiCat, and lining up as he did when he was here, he’d appear on the depth charts under the position heading of “FB/TE,” which the club changed to, from just “FB,” starting this past season.
I’m either excited, indifferent or terrified about the coaching staff, I’m not sure yet.
Interesting that James Tuck has jumped directly from playing last year into a coaching position this year . Also not to keen on Creehan making yet another appearance once again on our coaching staff . It’s either third times the charm or three strikes and you’re out with this guy . I 'm hoping it’s not the latter . Lastly I’m happy to see McKnight and Roosevelt back for another season with the team .
More on the new staff here from 3DN…

What the…Tuck!
I’m pleased that there isn’t as much change as I was concerned, particularly with the long period of only two coaches listed as the staff, might be happening.
In addition to announcing their coaching staff, today, the TiCats signed another AM DE Tyshun Render, who played 2 NFL games with the Dolphins in 2020. Miami had signed him undrafted and kept him, through that season, mostly on their practice roster. He was released at the end of the next year’s training camp.
Render was drafted by the N.J. Generals of the USFL, in March of ‘22, and when the league folded, he was picked by the Memphis Showboats, of the UFL, in its USFL dispersal draft. He was released a couple of months ago in January.
Described as fast off the edge, Tyshun is from Georgia, played college ball at Middle Tennessee, stands 6’ 4", weighs 245, and will turn 28 in 10 days.
The club has signed two American offensive linemen, today:
Darrin Paulo, who spent parts of '22 & '23 with the Detroit Lions and played both tackle and guard at the University of Utah. From Sacramento, CA, Darrin just turned 28, stands 6’5" and weighs 315.
Bryson Broadway, 6’4" / 294, was a tackle on the move, through the past few years, starting his college career at Georgia State, then playing at Eastern Illinois, and returning to his home state to finish up, this past season, at Georgia Southern University where he earned All Sun Belt Conference First Team recognition.
3downnation has reported a little more on Darrin Paulo, about whom I couildn’t find anything, in the pro ranks, beyond his time with Detroit in '22 -'23:
“Paulo most recently played for the UFL’s Memphis Showboats, suiting up in 10 games during the 2024 season. The six-foot-five, 315-pound tackle previously spent time with the NFL’s Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints, and had a stint with the USFL’s Tampa Bay Bandits, but never saw regular-season action at any of those stops.”
Yet another AM DE signing by the Tiger-Cats, today. A linebacker at Southeastern Oklahoma State and during time spent with the NFL Jets and the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions, Maalik Hall is a 6’ 2 or 3" / 235 lb. 26 year-old Texan. He signed with the Jets, undrafted in '23, was put on their injured reserve list and released, without playing, in February '24. He did play a bit, mostly on special teams in the last UFL season and was released two months ago.
Not permitted a 4th-in-a-row post, I’m adding to this one, a day later:
Another day, another American signed to the TiCat defence.
6’ 1/2", 235 lb. LB Chris Russell Jr., from Tennessee, played 5 years at Texas A & M and was invited to a Packers’ minicamp after not being drafted last year. Not then but, three months later, he was offered, and agreed to, a 3-year rookie deal with Green Bay late in their training camp and was kept on the club’s P.R. until the end of October. Russell joined the Memphis Showboats of the UFL, at the end of January, and was among the team’s final training camp cuts, two week ago.
Again, adding here on April 7th, another newcomer AM DE signed by the TiCats – 6’ 3" / 270 lb. / 24 year-old Tramel Walthour who played 5 seasons, in his home state, as a Georgia Bulldog. Undrafted, last year, Walthour signed with the NFL Ravens, in April, and was released at the end of the team’s pre-season schedule, late August.

I’m replying as much to say thank you as I am to reset your consecutive posts counter.

I haven’t encountered it before, so is this a relatively new thing to help prevent bots?
April 8th sees the Tiger-Cats add another AM CB Qwuantrezz Knight, a 5’ 10 & 3/4", 195 lb., Floridian who began, and spent most of, his college career at U. Maryland, before tansferring to Kent State and finishing up, in '21, as a Bruin at UCLA. where he earned Second Team All Pac-12 Conference honours.
Undrafted, Knight was signed by the NFL 49ers and went through two of their training camps, spending some time between on the club’s P.R., before being released, following the ‘23 pre-season. Qwuantrezz then spent a couple of months, during that season, on the Arizona Cardinal’s P.R, and, earlier this year, participated in the UFL Birmingham Stallions’ training camp, from which he was released three weeks ago.
(Yes, I did double check the spelling.)
April 11th – TiCats have signed another AM LB.
He’s 6’2" 235 lb. not yet 24 year-old Jason Johnson, from Chicago, who split his impressive 5 year college career between the universities of Eastern Illinois ('19-'21) and Central Florida ('22-'23). He was named the most valuable defensive player in the '24 Hula Bowl, that being the last of many recognitions earned through his play. Johnson was signed, undrafted, by the Dallas Cowboys, last May, and was among their final training camp cuts.
Eastern Illinois
In the 2021 season, Johnson would lead the Ohio Valley Conference in tackles with 112.[4] Johnson finished his career at Eastern Illinois with 235 tackles and two and a half sacks.[5]
UCF
Johnson decided to transfer to play for the UCF Knights to continue his collegiate football career.[6][7] In week two of the 2022 season, Johnson tallied 12 tackles in a 20-14 loss versus Louisville.[8] Johnson finished the 2022 season with 126 tackles with four being for a loss, one sack, two fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.[9] For his performance in the 2022 season, Johnson earned first-team all-American honors.[10] Johnson decided to return to UCF for the 2023 season as a fifth-year senior.[11] In week 12 of the 2023 season, Johnson notched six tackles, a sack, and he deflected a pass that was intercepted, as he helped UCF dominate Oklahoma State 45-3.[12] In Johnson’s final season in 2023 he tallied 114 tackles with six and a half going for a loss, three sacks, two pass deflections, and a fumble recovery.[13] Johnson was invited to play in the 2024 Hula Bowl, in which he was named the game’s Defensive MVP.[14][15]
April 15th – The TiCats have added another AM LB, 5’11" 227 lb, 24 year-old Justin Whiteside who hails from Flossmoor Illinois, an hour south of Chicago. This was written about him for the Central Michigan Chippewas’ 2025 NFL Draft Pro Day , last month:
Whiteside was a key contributor on defense and special teams over his six seasons at Central Michigan, finishing his career with 214 total tackles (117 solo), 23.5 TFLs, six sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. 2022 was his best individual season for total (67) and solo (34), but 2021 saw his most significant impact as a rotation backer, with a career-high 7.5 TFLs and three sacks. Whiteside started in 35 of his 55 eligible games, and earned academic all-MAC honors in three of his four seasons (2021, 2023-24.)
