Tiger-Cats Sign Kyries Hebert

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed import linebacker Kyries Hebert.

Hebert, a 6-3, 222-pound native of Eunice, Louisiana spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, recording 56 tackles (36 solo) in 31 games. He was released by the Bengals last month.

Good signing IMHO! I suspect he will deployed as a DB...we shall see how Marshall and Marcel plan to use him.

Oski Wee Wee,

Russ

This kid hits like a mack truck. A great player. Unbelievable pickup for the playoff run. Assume he will play defensive halfback.

Another good pickup
He should play vs Calgary I don't see him playing this week

Could it be we're not expecting one of our linebackers to be back next year?

:rockin:

Unfortunately, all of his hits in recent years have not been on a football field. Hopefully his problems and troubles with the law are behind him. He's a fan of Greg Marshall and his defensive system, having played it in both Ottawa and Winnipeg.

He's been added to the Active Roster (#21), with Ike Brown moved to the Injured List.

Oh yeah! THAT is why I remembered his name. Here’s hoping he keeps it clean and does his job.

His play stood out to me when he was in the Peg. Hopefully, he will help our secondary.

re keeping his hits on the football field.

IIRC, didn't he have a reputation for taking some bad penalties?

I seem to recall a player (I'm fairly certain it was Hebert) that on a number of occasions just drilled punt returners without regard to the 5 yard rule, accepting a 15 yard penalty vs a possible run back, plus laying a hurtin' on the returner.

Hard, clean hits, yes. Stupid and costly penalties we don't need... if it was Hebert I'm thinking of.

Lets hear it for Obie "the kid" really knows how to sigh good players.

A 225 pound DB? I doubt it.

Not even Hitch was that big.

He's going to be on the same "SlimFast CFL Baggs" diet plan Stevie got on. LOL

I doubt he's going to stay at that weight at DB. Unless the thinking is to move Knowlton back to DB and keep Hebert as an OLB. I wouldn't change our LB corps, but that's me.

Oski Wee Wee,

Russ

Maybe Knowlton will play DB hes very good there and Herbert will play LB in his spot....Maybe. Sorry Russ I didnt see your post.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Leave Markeith exactly where he is please and thank you

I think the writing is on the wall maybe Otis Floyd is going to pack it in and retire ?
anyway a great addition to our now evolving D
"Defence Wins Championships?.

Nice problem for The Marshall.

Great signing!!

I look forward to making a long playoff run!

Really good signing.

Like others, I think he's too big to be a DB.

And though Markeith could maybe do that, he's a super LB.

Maybe it indicates Otis might not be back next year.

Or maybe we'll see some more rotations among the front seven, or even more use of a 3-4.

Like Obie says....better is better.

He was released by the Bengals on Sept. 4...so I would think he's had some time to "CFL-size" a bit.

Time will tell where he'll fit.
