Tiger-Cats sign four defensive players

no kidding, article said he was the stamps nominee for d allstar i 2007 and 2008 or something like that... surprised he was released, and hes still got a lot of years left in him :?

James was released by the Stamps during the last week of March, which was why there was no Free Agent buzz about him. It will be interesting, as I will assume these are our starters in the Secondary

S - Dylan Barker (backup Ray Wladichuk) sorry Sandy!
CB - Will Poole
CB - Jykine Bradley, (backup Ryan Hinds)
HB - Jason Shivers
HB - Shannon James, or Jerome Dennis, or Geoff Tisdale, or a surprise FA

Either way, I think Geoff Tisdale's days are numbered in Hamilton, as he, Bo Smith, and Chris Thompson all got victimized badly against BC in the playoffs. Smith is with the Jets and when he gets cut (cause there is no way he makes the Jets with Revis, Cromartie, Kyle Wilson at CB) I dont think Obie will want him back. Thompson is already gonzo.

Any way I look at it, our secondary was out biggest weakness last year and as long as Obie continues to add quality depth and competition, Im all for it.

I stand to be corrected, but I seem to recall Obie said, when he signed some of the new US DBs, that while most all of them had experience on the corner, they'd all be competing for a HB spot, and that Tisdale would be moved to the corner. I do not know if Tisdale has ever played corner. . .

I cant see Tisdale going anywhere, I thought he played very well overal for most of the season and the game he missed against Montreal our secondary got lit up big time which shows his value. The most important thing is we now seem to have enough depth to match up against Montreal’s 5 receiver sets.

Isn't Tisdale in his option year this year??

My guess is b/c he wanted a job and the Ticats were the only team offering him one. Calgary let him go b/c he’s too slow.

He’d be a useful guy as a backup and ST’er but he shouldn’t be a starting db.
