Tiger-Cats release import DB Poole

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has released the following players:

IMP DB Will Poole

I'm really worried about some of the players released considering the fact we cut Cobb at this time last year

Fantastic, now we have a gaping hole in our secondary again.Although id prefer to hang onto what draft picks we have left, we dont really have anybody of Poole`s caliber on the roster.

Drew Edwards quoted Buellefuelle on his blog as saying Poole was cut “for personal reasons.” I’m thinking Poole was upset that he wasn’t a starter.

Looks like Heyward will now be plan B if Shivers or Dennis go down at HB.

Poole was gunna start though, that’s the problem. Now we have to shuffle around and I have a terrible feeling that we’re just gonna stick Beswick there and say “there! Fixed
That would be worse than starting Bo Smith last year, total disaster.

Dennis beat Poole out of the starter’s job. It was an open competition, and Poole lost. The Cats are high on both Dennis and Heyward. Poole probably saw that based on alotted playing time in practices, saw a year of him riding the pine, and asked for his release.

Greg Marshall knows Beswick is only a special teams player. Beswick will not be starting.

This sucks, him and shivers were great friends, and he was practising with the first team defence for all of TC until he got hurt.

I'm cool with Heyward and Shivers though. However i don't like what ive seen from Dennis.

Wonder what effect this might have on Shivers?

What was the personel reason ? Is Dennis a better player ? Poole and Shivers played together making for a quick gel for the secondary . Big personel reason for sure with the season about to start .

‘personal reasons’ is usually used as a cover-up for a bigger issue.

5th post down. Mark my words.

close enough.

Hmmm…looks like you saw this coming.

Well predicted, Doc. Congrats on your insight.

How long did it take you to find that old post?

I think a few of you need to start a CFL GM fantasy game or something to expend these thoughts that you somehow know what is best for the team.

Obie is the one with the GM title and pay cheque. Let him do his job for goodness sake.

Whats the idea of having this site if we agree with every thing that done and said

heyward the real deal and played a lot better than expected, didnt think theyd keep poole around as a backup, plus i think they like dennis’ flexibility

:rockin:

I agree with your every word here zenstate. However, I’m happy to salute any fan who makes a bold prediction that does come true. " In Obie we trust" is we fans’ best motto and let me be the first, on this site, to wish him many more years of the wonderful life he’s enjoyed to this point on the eve of his 70th birthday. Congrats Bob and Thank You for making the team and tradition we care so much about something we can once again be very proud to support.

8) Funny, I recall when we signed these two Argo free agents, someone in the know made the comment that both of
them would be lucky to survive through training camp !!!

The Argos certainly didn't mind letting them both go when they did !!

  Makes you wonder   <!-- s:roll: -->:roll:<!-- s:roll: -->

That might have been me although I cannot find the post to prove it. As a fan of the blue team, I can tell you that neither Poole nor Shivers was very good last year (although Poole made one hellacious hit in Week 1 against Hamilton). I don't find this surprising and I would not be surprised to see Shivers follow him out the door, especially if the Tiger-Cats are as good and as deep as everyone seems to be saying.
