I only extrapolated to show you that the difference between Hickman-Long and Willis-Hunt wasn’t as large as you seemed to think. Maybe they would have had more sacks, but since all we have is what happened, I guess we all just speculated. This is why I can’t wait until July 2nd. We can put all this behind us and simply use what actually happens as our proof.
We’ll see in less than a week if it matters. July 2nd cannot come soon enough.
And what im trying to say is the bombers don’t even know who their starting 5 offensive linemen will be yet, because most of them performed pretty poorly this past sunday.
Isn’t your starting import tackle on the IR as well? I’d sure like to have him if i was facing Hickman and Long.
Keep it up boys I'm sure the normal people of Winnipeg and Hamilton are enjoying this show down. Why don't we all just wait until the game actually starts before we start throwing darts. Ithink Hamilton and Winnipeg will be a dog fight all the way to the end.
Kubie, that is a great insight, I don’t see why any team would take issue with it.
If the Bombers starting tackle was out, you can bet we’d be hearing about it too. Oh wait, isn’t January out, but he’s not our starting tackle, Butler & Douglas are so I guess we’re okay.
No, we only have a guy who had 10 sacks in 13 games. That’s all. (The highly underrated Khari Long).
Justin Hickman had 7 sacks as a CFL rookie. He should be even better this year.
Your D-line may be a little better, but please don’t underestimate ours.
Now as for your D-line, Odell Willis is impressive. 10 sacks. And Hunt’s 3 sacks in 7 games is great too. But please don’t act like your starting DEs are the second coming of Covington, Wake, Montford or Payton. Doug Brown is good, but also 36. He will slow down eventually. Maybe not this year, but you never know.
Now for our O-line. We have a young man named Simeon Rottier who will step in admirably. He was great in his rookie year when he was needed, no matter what position he was asked. This year, he should be better. If not, we have another young Canadian Brian Ramsay, who is an experienced starter. So don’t think that because Jimenez is injured, that there will be a gaping hole on our line.
No matter what, it will be a fight in the trenches on the 2nd.
Actually we do know who will be the starting Five.
Douglas LaBatte Kahn Morely Butler
and they will be a very good group to… the reason the Line played Semi - poor was because Lapo was moving everybody around to see who had Versitility and who didnt. He wanted to see which 7 or 8 offensive Lineman would give him the most depth barring possible injuries.
You’re right. January would likely have been starting but in place of Douglas, not Butler. It was pretty evident from early on that LaPolice was thinking about going with 2 imports on the o-line.
Rottier was awful, for sure, but the rest of that Ticat line was no great shakes either. I was watching Gauthier and they only called 1 of about 5 identical holding penalties on him and Cobb had 0 room to run.
Jiminez could be back as early as next week.Although it doesn't matter at this point as Rottier seems to be holding his own.
What's the word on Glenn January?
