It would be good for ticats to pick up another running back (NFL cut) and slowly start developing him for next year. My guess is that Lumsden is headed for the NFL next year.
the cats need to stop looking at smaller RBs like holmes and anthony davis, the ticats need to use a power running game and use bigger backs, i wouldnt mind dickerson getting a few carries up the gut, marcel needs to scower the waiver wire for bigger backs, no more midgets or scat backs in the backfield.
Im not really sure who you would say chris is a starter…because he isnt. Holmes wasn’t effective for whatever reason and we add a threat at WR and even returning.
An excellent deal for the Cats in the short term. I still think Getzlaf may be the eventual key to the deal. But for the next 2-3 years at least, Armstead will be a solid contributor here.
They didnt want Armstead because he is having a sub par year, Sask fans have been complaining about his work ethic and ability to run his routes… hopefully this gets better.
Great move Marcel,Holmes wasn't going to displace Lumsden and Armstead can return kicks so Holmes goes home to get some playing time and we upgraded our game somewhat.
I regret to see Corey go. His underutilization in Hamilton was a sore point. I figured that a deal may be in the offing. By acquiring Jason Armstead, the Cats get a younger return threat with game-breaking ability at wideout. I believe Getzlaf is a project with a lot of upside, but the price is about right. Armstead will not allow the special teams cognescenti from getting a pass because of the perceived "lost step" of Holmes. Jason is lightning fast, so it has to be the priority of Taaffe's special teams focus for the upcoming week to get the blocking of the return teams up to snuff!
I like the trade. Corey Holmes simply failed to live up to his billing while Armstead has been playing well for the past few seasons and continues to play well.
Looks like Jason got the same number he was wearing for the Riders. Good 'ol #1.
A thought about Armstead just occurred to me. It looks like he will be the only player in the league that does not get a week off this season. The Cats just had their week off while the Riders were due to have theirs this coming week.
I have Mixed Feelings about this Trade.
What if Jessie Leaves next year ??
What if he gets Hurt We lose Depth.
I like Corry He great guy
I wish him & Chris all the best
I like deal cause Armstead is a #1 WR.
Add him with already good Core
it makes us better .
