HAMILTON – Heading into Tim Hortons Field with a record of 6-0 in his career in the Labour Day Classic, Bo Levi Mitchell notched win No. 7 over the Toronto Argonauts as he led the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to a 31-28 win.
Argos D put up a clinic in the second half on how not to tackle. Ridiculous. Also, hearing air horns in the Hammer is not a good omen. Irritating. Hope it doesn’t spread like a virus throughout the rest of the league
I’m experiencing my usual postgame Labour Day angst as an Argo fan, so congrats to the Ticats for winning their version of the Grey Cup. Enjoy it as you may have only one more victory this season when you meet the Argos again. Where to begin? Well, I’m angry with the defence, as you were a sieve against the worst team in the league. It looked like a master class in running and passing for the Cats with no pressure from the D line and the secondary until they tightened up in the second half, but not enough. I thought the Cats put a stake through the Argos when a beautiful punt put the ball out at the Ticat one. The D had the chance to come up big and help the team take control of the game, but they were awful, letting the Cats off the hook. I don’t know if this is a coaching issue or a personnel issue, but something is seriously wrong when you can’t control a team with only two wins going into the game. On the Ticat side, Chris Jones who was 0-0 with the Elks, looked like the genius he used to be going against the Boatmen. I thought the Argo play calling was bad. They’d just get a drive going and then call a bum play. Kelly looked dazed in the first half, but got better, just too late. So congrats again to the Cats and their washed up QB and second team Argo defence. That’s all you needed against the Argo-Nots.
To add to my comments. It was a disgrace that a dangerous receiver like White was all alone not once but TWICE for Ticat touchdowns. He should have been DOUBLE covered and he wasn’t covered at all. Just what is this defence and coaching staff doing anyway. Bad guys, bad. Very bad.
Tough loss after a great claw back
Still waiting for coach Maas to file a complaint with the league over the Argos having to play in a short week
AGAIN
Oh ya it only matters when it’s them
Sorry
