TiCats sign 4 and release 4, including Elliott and Kilgore

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Tuesday that the football club has signed four international free agents, including offensive lineman Tony Washington, defensive back Cariel Brooks, defensive end Mike McAdoo and wide receiver Gerell Robinson.

Washington, 31, started six games at both left and right tackle for the Edmonton Eskimos this season before being released on August 7. The 6-7, 318-pound native of New Orleans, Louisiana, has played in 75 career CFL games, starting 74 times, over seven seasons for the Calgary Stampeders (2011), Toronto Argonauts (2012-13) and Edmonton Eskimos (2014-17). The product of Abilene Christian University is a two-time Grey Cup Champion (2012, 2015).

The Tiger-Cats also announced the following two players have been released:
INT – DB – Ethan Davis
INT – OL – Quinterrius Eatmon
INT – WR – Kevin Elliott
INT – QB – Logan Kilgore

Our O Line just got a whole lot better!

8)That's an understatement to say the least, Grover

Besides Eatmon, they were obviously not happy at all either with Elliott.

With big Mike McAdoo coming in now, makes you wonder about Tracey's job security ::slight_smile:

Gerell Robinson is 6'4", 248 lbs, that's Jerome Messam-sized! Are they planning on using him as a tight end?

The only mild surprise out of these releases would be Kevin Elliott , but in reality you could see it coming . Elliott only dressed for two games this season and was for the most part pretty much ineffective and invisible out there when he did play. He had rather unimpressive stats on the season of only 4 receptions for 54 yards . The emergence of a pair of rookies first Saunders and then Aultman being inserted into the line-up probably sped up his demise and led to his dismissal from the team .

As for the other three players released , none were surprises and none of them will be missed .

Ethan Davis only dressed for two games this season and was basically eaten alive out there and now joins the ranks of the seemingly never ending long , long , long list of players rolled out in the perpetually ever changing carousel that has been our so called secondary since the start of last season . I've almost lost count , but this team has had to have close to around at least 30 different players since the start of last year who have started at least one game in our D Backfield at one time or another .

Quinterrius Eatmon turned out to be a walking , talking human turnstile in his two starts this season at Tackle . This one was a no brainer really with the signing of ex Eskimo Washington it was basically bye , bye to Eatmon , thanks for coming out and good luck to ya in yer future endeavours .

Logan Kilgore's release is basically telling us that Everett Golson is finally good to go an ready to come off the 6 gm and back on to the active roster . Kilgore was signed strictly as a stop gap anyway and he is basically a career clip board holder and a guy who will probably be nothing more than that for the rest of his career.......that is if he has a rest of a career , I highly doubt that his phone will be ringing off of the hook anytime soon from other clubs seeking his services .

Some, or all, of these players released could be finding themselves employed once the injury bug bites again with any of the teams.

Who could have predicted that Ricky Foley would be back in the league and with the Lions??

DB Rogers made the cut WTF?!

Maybe it was a case of "bad attitude" with Elliott. The guy is talented, when he wants to, but there must be good reason as to why Argos lwt him go and now our TiCats! Rather have heart than non-caring talent!!!

Tori Gurley must have an "attitude" as well. Another Arblow cast off who remains unsigned.
