I am very happy to see the Cats win their first game of the year. While the defence played well. it was against Ottawa’s 3rd or 4th string QB - who came in as a result of Masoli’s injury and played way over his head. Regardless, it is a step in the right direction for the Tigers - now it is time for the entire team to start winning and gaining momentum towards the Eastern Final.
Win next week’s game against Edmonton (very doable) and then squeak past Toronto the following week (The ‘Moon Shot’) and the 'Cats are right back in it.
Maaax - you are absolutely right! This season is still young and a lot can happen between game 4 and 18 - it ain’t over until it is over. But I really felt that the Cats needed to win this game - going 4 losses in a row would have started a possible downward slide that few teams could rebound from - just happy they won. Oskee - Wee - Wee!
New here to the forums…
Huge lifelong Ti-Cats fan and am generally a fan of coach O…but this team lacked any discipline last year and it’s a tend that’s continued into this season…
REDBLACKS coach Bob Dyce was seen chastising his players as they hit the sideline when they made a dumb mistake that led to a penalty…Coach O seems to ignore his team’s discipline issues…can’t see this being a good trend …
Happy they won, but nervous for the season.
Crum was listed as the 2nd string QB AHEAD of Arbuckle. He might be new but he was named by the coaching staff to start behind Masoli.
Just because you as a fan don’t see that happening, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t take place. Some coaches prefer to deal with discipline issues privately rather than publicly.
I agree that there are still too many bad penalties being taken at inopportune times though and that definitely needs to improve.
it is easy to get things confused, but remember that Ottawa had played Tyrie Adams, Arbuckle - then Crum. Masoli’s injury forced them to play a QB who was well down the list of starters - which was really the point I was making.
