Whatever coaching skills Boudreau had in seven seasons with the Bombers (and two Grey Cups), he did not bring them to Hamilton. The Ticats are at or near the bottom of most ST statistics. Milanovich had to start somewhere, to get this team back on track.
Seriously ? Are the problems the Ticats presently having only on special teams ? I guess Milanovich had to start somewhere, But blaming Boudreau ? Seems like some team is having a panic attack so soon in the season.
So if Hamilton is panicking what is Edmonton and Winnipeg doing about their start?
It’s not panic. If you watched Cats game this season, you know that special teams was not close to being good enough. Going back to preseason even. Evidently Milanovich ran out of patience after the squib kick fiasco last game and persistent coverage issues.
I can’t speak for everyone here but so far I haven’t seen any ‘panic’ set in amongst our fellow Blue Bomber fans. Sure our once airworthy bomber has hit an iceberg (we fly low) and is losing altitude as we speak, but we have plenty of alcohol on hand. So even though we might get badly strafed and set on fire by Ottawa next Friday we’ll be comfortably anesthetized. Besides, the captain assured us before he bailed out that we’re in no danger of crashing into the turf anytime soon. Gravity is on our side and we have not yet begun to win… I mean, ‘fight’.
And the DC is likely being evaluated as well.
Milanovich has said if the team doesnt have the right people, they will get them. Its showing the team there must be accountability.
I was suspicious of the Ticat’s ST Coach appointment when I learned his previous position was ST Coach of the Bombers. Who makes a horizontal move in their career? All it makes you do is question their Team Loyalty in their career. I’d like to know was this originally Scott’s choice or Ed’s choice? That being said I was questioning the performance of Special Teams and their Coaching as I watched games this season. I saw Woods III taking what I thought was unfair criticism for poor returns from the fans. My view was no one was blocking for him on kickoffs or punt returns. Woods III has been running North and South, shows excellent acceleration and makes good “run to daylight” decisions, but he needs to have blocking from his teammates to be successful. If you’re a Tiger-Cat Special Team Player reading this you need to make your assigned block on the play and most important “SUSTAIN YOUR BLOCK” until the end of the play. It will be interesting to see who Ticats bring in for Special Teams or who gets Double Duty on the Coaching Staff…
