Drew Edwards is reporting we have a new jersey coming out and will be reveiled sept 7th, against the BC Lions. Unsure how many responses this thread will get but I figured it's worth noting. I didn;t mind the new BC Lions new jersey this past weekend, i actually thought it was pretty cool looking. Anyone have any thoughts or hopes of what it may look like? Maybe some sort of retro look? Can't wait to see them.

not a fan of the BC 3rd. I just hope ours is not gold

I bet it will be and wouldn't be surprised if it has a tiger skin or striped look.

I hope it's just a 70's retro again. I love the white sleeves. That's what's missing on the current jerseys.

Copycat the Lions, all black, with black numbers outlined in gold? Have a black helmet with a proper Cat on the side this time...

Im not too picky but PLEASE do not copy that extremely ugly jaguars helmet

Tweeted by the Ticats today... "Think retro. REALLY retro." I've been hoping to see the multi-striped sleeves make a comback. We'll see in a couple of weeks, I guess.

The sleeves have always been striped fromthe 60s through to the 90s, no? it;'s just the shoulder area that was white. Anyways, the current onus are pretty much the same as the 70s ones, with the exception of the white shoulders on the black jerseys.

here are pics form the 60s, 70, 80s and 90s, and note how the jerseys are pretty much the same as the current jerseys.

I'd like to see a gold jersey and different helmet.

But they are wearing multi striped sleeves now, arent they?

I'm thinkin' it's gonna be the all gold! or the black version of theose 50s unis

I should have been clearer - I love the white sleeve, and the alternating black and gold stripes below. There should be a leaping tiger on there somewhere too. The last retro jersey came close to that, so I bought one 8) but it is the wide black and gold alternating stripes that I really associate with the "classic" Tiger-Cats look.

What you'd like to see, ramonecat, can't be accomplished because of the extra-short sleeves of today's jerseys. They're even quite a bit shorter than what's depicted in the 1983 picture included in your post. I'm expecting that, of the pictures you've provided, the 1935 one will be the most like what we'll see on September 7th.

8) More great pics there, Captain.
Not too many on here that would remember which player your bottom picture is of.......#99 Tony Curcillo <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->

#99.....Tony Curcillo, played from 56-60 as a Cat,all East all-star in 57-58,played 2 positions Q.B. and ILB. Just imagine that today!!!! a player being listed as Q.B. @ LB. Back then if I'm not mistaken, the rosters only had 32 players, thus most players had to play both sides of the ball, and many never came off the field the entire game.

I'm really not hoping for the "Hamilton Tigers" jersey's. We all saw how ugly the similar themed Steeler's uber retro jerseies looked, and that jersey really isn't the one that fans are going to buy. I could see the team throwing a curveball and trying to remake a flying wildcats or a alert jersey at some point for a one off.

I think more likely it will be a 50s revival, either plain gold or plain black.

I'll tell you what, I know I'd buy a 90's retro jersey in a heartbeat.

Also, while it's unrelated to Football and is a Hockey jersey, if they sold one of these sweaters. I'd buy it.

It would be great for wearing under my Ti-Cat jersey in the winter and showing support for a team that should have returned ages ago.

That's what I mean. White sleeves. I want that back permanently!

That is likely the worst uniform I have ever seen in my life.

Yeah, looking through the old jerseys, I'm willing to bet that they're going to "pull a Steelers".

"Can't" is a pretty strong word. "probably won't" is more accurate. The "70's" throwback jersey from a couple of years ago was pretty close with the striped sleeves, and you're right - many of the game jerseys had the sleeves cut so short that the stripes were gone. Since the 1935 jersey is really close to that crazy Steelers uniform, I get a "already been done" vibe from that one. A 50's spin on things this time around would be OK though.

Thanks for the pic, DaveyP.

I was thinking 1935 retros, as well. Seeing as how it was tweeted, "Think really retro."

With the beige pants too!

The uniform would look much better if the Steeler didn't have those striped socks and lawn bowling shoes; and wasn't standing in a shower stall!

Nice helmet stripe, though!
