Cam Marshall is still listed on the 6 Game IL,
This week would be his 6th game on it,
Not sure if he practiced this week or not as we get no info like that anymore. >:(
Hopefully he will start practicing again and be ready for some cold weather games like in CGY!
Cam Marshall is healthy and participating in practice but Sutton is getting the lions share of the handoffs. Addison and Bennett had a few. i think Sutton is now our #1 running back going forward wirh Irons injured short term and Erllngton out for the year.
The problem at this point with STE (or say Tasker) coming back now, is that they donât have the reps in with the starting line up. I would think at this point players coming back from injury are going to sit; with Sutton playing well and the receivers having great chemistry with Evans.
That depends on the team and how well they are prepared.
In 2016 Calgary finished the season with a bye-week and the previous week they rested some starters which included Mitchell. By the time the Western Final game was played some of the Stamps hadnât played in 4 weeks. It didnât affect them at all because they ended up steamrolling BC 42-15 and Mitchell threw for 365 yards.
I think it is more important to get and keep your players healthy. A little rust can be scraped off a lot easier than a nasty injury.
I donât make predictions but, sometimes, will share gut feelings about an upcoming game. Today, I donât have either but do know what I want to see â a convincing TiCat victory, over Ottawa, for the sake of the players, the fans, and what it would say to the other 5 playoff teams. It will make this the most successful ever 18-game-schedule TiCat season, with 2 games yet to play. Itâll make the 2019 Hamilton team even more special, marking the first time, ever, a TiCat team has won all of its first 8 regular season home games and, it will make another statement to whichever the two teams are that the TiCats will have to defeat in the last half of November.
Then, next week, on the road in Montreal, is when Iâd choose to rest several starters and show a quite vanilla game plan. Going with our best, in that game, and losing, would certainly give the Als a load of playoff confidence, while giving the Cats reason to doubt themselves. I donât see the pros, of Hamilton winning that game, in Montreal, outdoing the cons of losing it. My way, the most the Als could get out it is knowing they beat our second stringers. And the worst, of course, would be for them to lose it. Either outcome would leave the Alouettes with pretty much the same level of confidence they have, right now, regarding the do-or-die game, they might play in, here, on Nov. 17th.
It should be interesting to see who the Ticats choose for their 4 import receivers
Banks, Addisin, Acklin are likely locks and Nationalls Mike Jones ( Ungerer, Coombs and Kalinic in the mix ) can share time.
#15 Marcus Tucker has looked great and can run the ball out of the backfield or reverses etc and he spent 3 years with the NFL"S Pittsburgh Steelers on their practice roster. He had a very successful University career at Norhern Michigan as a receiver but also carried the ball and returned kicks and punts He is a fast and polished talented athlete.
#7 Jalin Marshall looked great today and can also run out of the backfield or reverses . Jalin started and had success in the Alliance fottball league and spent 2 years withe the NFLâS New York Jets and played in 10 games. He also started at receiver at presigeous Ohio State and ran the ball, and returned punts and kickoffs due to his speed. We all saw what he can do today.
Then there is our beloved , reliable, great hands and hard nosed #17 Luke Tasker. I assume he should be ready to start next week or the final game versus the Argos
I think we should go with Tasker due to his experience and proven clutch track record assuming he is healthy.
The Ticats have been dressing Rolle as a backup DB and excellent special teams player.
The same goes for DE Mauldin who comes in when we need a pass rush and plays a wicked special teams. Beverette is a backup linebacker for all 3 lb spots and is excellent on special teams as well.We need to dress these 3 guys.
We also dress DT Dean to come in for certain running plays and short yordage plays . He ia beast in the middle. He does not play special teams and he also backs up Wynn.
The question is :
Do we dress #7 Marshall or #15 Tucker in case Tasker gets reinjured or is rusty and to give one of them sone reps to give Tasker some time to rest while getting back into game shape. They also would be the backup import receiver and come in for potential runs out of the backfield and reverses and passing plays to add another weapon.
If we did dress Tucker or Marshall along with Tasker then weâd likely have to sit DT Dean and if Wynn were to get injured or we need some extra beef on running plays I think Mauldin could do just fine as he is strong and fast.
Another option for an import option is to dress Palmer in case Rycker Mathews or Van Zeyl were to ge injured.
What say you ? I noticed Tasker has yet to practice but I think he might be ready to practice this week.
I say Palmer was released on October 2nd.
He only dressed for 3 games, this season, starting Game 5 in Van Zeylâs spot and the other two, games 9 & 10, in Mathewsâ when they were out injured.
On another discussion, in this thread, I donât think weâll be seeng Sean Thomas Erlington play again this year. Both he and Cameron Marshall finished 6 games on that injured list, with the last game vs. Ottawa. In STEâs case that was his second straight 6-game period. The club, this week, extended him on the 6-game, while moving Marshall to the 1-game inured list.
How was the tackle on Collaros, initiated by the tackler, not a penalty, and yet the tackle on Begelton, intensified, if not initiated by Begelton, was a penalty? Maybe BLMâs anti-officials rant a game or so back had an impact after all?
I can accept this argument for the Collaros hit, but how does it explain the UR on the hit on Begelton? The tackler essentially held his ground, turned his back to Begelton, and Begelton lowered his head and ran onto him.
