I wasn't a fan of hearing all about trades and possible signings during the Grey Cup programme. I thought it was a huge distraction from the actual event we were all watching to see. After its over, completely fair game though. Maybe they can respect what most teams are saying about not talking to coaches and players until after their team is out of playoff contention etc. It might be better to just wait until its completely done to take the side stories out.
I agree. There are both written and unwritten rules in all sports that teams not involved in the finale keep their yaps shut so as not to detract from the league’s showcase event. In this case it appears that the teams did this and that the blame lies on the hacks, I mean writers, and the media in general, who are apparently not capable of presenting a game related story for a few days and must resort to TMZ style journalism because they don’t have the talent to do otherwise. It’s all about the mindless clicks.
I agree with you - I too felt that the announcers were over-stepping the boundaries of what should be discussed about players and coaches prior the the Grey Cup. I felt that they were undermining the league and the whole process of legit trade talks - not to forget about them undermining the team and people they were talking about. I found it very unprofessional.
I felt sorry for Coach Orlondo Steinauer. Great game played by his team. Great party hosted by Hamilton. Then some ass-clown asks a question like this out of the blue after a heartbreaking defeat. Completely out of line. I celebrated like every other Bomber fan when the game ended. But seeing this kind of bollocks gave me a dirty taste in my mouth. You still feel for the other organization. Too bad you can't legislate common sense and sensibility. Especially compassion. But Coach Steinauer handled it with class and grace, and that show's well on him...and his team.
Agreed, not just with Hamilton either. About 3 hours before kickoff, Arash Madani among others was tweeting about the Elks interest in Mike O'Shea for Head Coach & GM. Nothing else to talk about on Grey Cup Sunday?!
And the rumours about Steinhauer at least turned out to have no basis, unless Steinhauer is lying, which I don’t think is the case. This TMZ crap has to stop. Not interested. Have a life thanks.
Steinhuaer will go to UofW. He did some fancy dancing when denying it. O' Shea to Edm
and...Mrstallion becomes a Rider fan changes his name to Mrgainerthegopher
Guess you are wrong for this year at least.
wrong in fact, but right in spirit
This didn't age well, on either point.
That is the reason that you're so usually right about being usually wrong .
