Some history on Brandon Collins:

The NFL announced Monday that Brandon Collins has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2013 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Collins will be eligible to return to the Giants’ active roster September 30. He was an undrafted rookie last year out of Southeastern Louisiana who made some noise in the offseason before spending the year on the team’s practice squad.

Some more on Collins …

Collins played 2 seasons at the University of Texas before transferring to Southeastern Louisiana University. In 2007, Collins played in 7 games as a freshman and had 2 special teams tackles. As a sophomore at Texas in 2008, he played in 12 games with 3 starts and caught 35 passes for 430 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was academically ineligible for the 2009 season. He was kicked of the Texas team when he was arrested for aggravated robbery.[1] In 2011, he caught 61 passes for 746 yards and 5 touchdowns. In his first season at Southeast Louisiana, Collins played in all 11 games with 8 starts and was second on the team with 56 catches for a team-high 875 yards (15.6-yard avg.) and 4 touchdowns. He also returned 13 punts for 88 yards.
... Hopefully he's learned from his mistakes ... 3 transgressions already though ...

I agree - doesn’t exactly sound like the type of “character player” that Austin prefers but if he has cleaned up his act, then good for them for giving him a chance. First sign of trouble, I suspect he’ll be out on his ear!

Saw a tweet from Simoni Lawrence (I think - could be another player) that indicated RB Madu was a great sign - he is supposedly much like Gable and that can’t be bad!

Ya … Tweet was from Simoni.

Madu and Rogers look like they might have a shot of sticking, the other 3 are just basically bodies for training camp, the team is well stocked in import receivers as it is(Grant,Jones,Tasker,Koch,Banks)can't see any of these 3 making the final cut.Madu has a good shot of replacing Walker as Gable's back-up and Rogers dressed for three games last year, and didn't play too bad when he got his chance.Collins seems to bring a lot of baggage with him,Evans doesn't really have any size clocking in at 5'9" 187lbs and Brown"s size is okay at 6'3" 220lbs but just who has ever heard of Minnesota State - Mankato?plus he's already bounced around with 4 different NFL clubs already and hasn't stuck with any of them(T.Bay,Buffalo,Atlanta,Minnesota).If anything these guys might be practice roster material players at best, but regular roster, highly unlikely.
