Ticat Bottle Coozies, Collector Scarves sold to Fight Cancer

Hello Everyone:
CFL Fans Fight Cancer is back working with the Ticats to help Hamilton's Wellwood Cancer Resource Centre!
This year the Ticats and CFL Fans Fight Cancer (CFLFFC) will be selling Ticat bottle coozies and our annual Ticat scarves. This years scarf design is commemorating the last year of Ivor Wynne Stadium as we know it!

Where's the Money Go?
A portion of the proceeds from all coozie and scarf sales will be generously donated by the Ticats directly to Wellwood to help operate their programs, which are free to people and families fighting and dealing with this terrible, but beatable disease. Wellwood is a community program with only 4 paid staff and over 200 volunteers qualified to help. The money given goes to helping Hamiltonians and their families fight cancer through individual and group programs. It really is an amazing program organization!

When's this Happening?
Look for the Wellwood/CFLFFC volunteers first selling the coozies and then the scarves on the following dates:
Bottle coozies will be sold at the August 9th game, and are available at the Ticat stores across the city and in the stadium merchandise booths on game day.

Commemorative IWS Collector scarves will be traditionally launched on Labour Day with at CFL Fans Fight Cancer table in Lot J for pregame. Be the first fan to have a scarf!
Friday, October 12th will be the scarf day sale when the scarves will be sold at a special price.

We at CFLFFC are honoured to be working with the Ticats to help Wellwood again this year and appreciate all of the support the Ticat Fan Community has given our efforts over the years. With your help we hope to finish our time at Ivor Wynne on a huge high note!

Sincerely,

Great work Jarrett as usual! Lost my best friend to cancer and think about him quite often and his family. What you are doing and the event on Tuesday evening at Jack Astor's for the McMaster Children's Hospital are some things that makes me proud to be a member fan of the TigerCat community.

A Cancer fighting bump!
Thanks Earl!

I will certainly buy a coozie.

Hi All,
As we head into the Labour Day weekend, our thoughts go to preparing for fall even though technically, summer still here! I do hope you are enjoying this gorgeous day, which now looks like it will be a gorgeous weekend.

I have a special update to share with you at this time and I am asking for your help. We are excited to be starting a new program for children on Wednesday, September 12. The program is called “Kids in the Kitchen/Power Up? for children ages 9-12 living with serious illness in the family. Together with The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton, we will provide a 6-week program (Wednesdays at Wellwood from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.) that will include nutritious meal preparation (and eating!), homework help and fun activities to support children whose lives have been affected by an illness in the family. This program is the first of its kind for us and we hope to continue to offer it in the winter and in the spring.

We are also providing supervised transportation to and from the program to help parents and guardians who may already have a great deal to manage with illness and appointments and cannot get their kids to Wellwood. Attached is a one page flyer with details. As with all Wellwood programs, the program is FREE.

If you, in your volunteer role or as a member of our community, know of a child or family who would benefit from participating, please don’t hesitate to refer them to me or to the supportive care department at JCC (number on flyer). We still have spots left and want every family to have the opportunity to register.

Thanks, as always, for your help and support, Norma
