Ti-Cats sign Jeff Matthews - Ivy League's alltime leading QB

This sounds like a good backup to push Collaros… I wonder what this means for Dan Lefevour.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed international quarterback Jeff Mathews.

Mathews, a 6-4, 229-pound, native of Camarillo, California, played four seasons at Cornell University. In 38 games with the Big Red, he completed 901 of 1,447 passing attempts for 11,284 yards and 72 touchdowns to become the most prolific passer in Ivy League and Cornell history, while ranking among the top-20 all-time quarterbacks in FCS history.

Matthews played for Ticats head coach Kent Austin and offensive coordinator Tommy Condell.

The three-time All-Ivy selection concluded his NCAA career with the rights to 47 Big Red school records and 18 Ivy League marks for passing and total offence. Additionally, Mathews became the first sophomore in Ivy League history to be awarded the Bushnell Cup in 2011, the Ivy League’s Offensive Player for the Year, and was also a unanimous choice as the 2010 Ivy League Rookie of Year.

Mathews spent time with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts during the 2014 season.

I don't think Lefevour has much to worry about. But Masoli might want to be checking the want ads.

It may for Masoli. Although he did not play for Austin while at Ole Miss Masoli did transfer in the next season. I have a hunch they had a connect with the offense that Austin is running and the reason he went right after Masoli in a trade.
Not everyone can come in and be successful right away like Tasker did especially at QB but your looking at guy like Masoli and now Matthews who have played at high levels and have a connect with the offense.
Im sure there was a concern about Masoli's accuracy. His ball security last season was a surprise
