Earl this has to be one of your funniest posts ever. Banks on skates? You doing okay there?
Yes I agree with you on the call, but it was so marginal. I’m thinking they should save that clip for review such that the rule needs a bit of a revision to just let them play a bit more. As Miller stated, the defender has a right to stand his ground. If that defender had not put his hands up, I bet that (no-)call would not have been overturned.
Though I am perhaps in the small few who kind of likes these new rules because they allow more contact up to five yards (even though so far defences have opted instead to play more zone rather than press coverage), as was the original (no-)call I liked the old rules to let 'em play in such a case.
That's right Hamilton does not have an NHL team!!!! So who would Banks play for if he could skate LOL! Maybe the Leaf's my want to give him a try out???
Even though it's early in the season, it's quickly looking like it's Calgary and Hamilton, and then everybody else. Unless some other teams steps up and shows something, this is just going to be a long pre-season for another Calgary/Hamilton Grey Cup...
Regardless of Willy getting thrown at that TiCat defender I can't see why that wouldn't get at least merit a helmet to helmet call. You can see that the defender even drops his head to initiate contact.
