Thryllin' Doctrine Still Alive: Good News

Good news Roughrider fans, the Thryllin' Doctrine is still alive! That's right. I haven't lost faith in my team and neither should you.

We are all in this together. Sure, we'd like a better start to the season, but this is what we've got.

The 2011 Roughriders aren't looking very strong right now, but keep the faith. Keep the faith that we so proudly boast about when we're a successful team. Keep the faith that has green jerseys in every stadium across the league. Keep the faith that lets us proudly dress like freaks.

We are Rider fans because we love our team, not because our team wins.

Would you walk out on Grandpa if he slipped and fell? No, you'd stay with him until you knew he was alright.

Bandwagon jumping is for the media and teenage girls, not for Rider fans.

Your friend,
Thryllin' Dylan

I want cflisthebest posting again…we need more football talk I say.

So teenage girls can’t be Rider fans? :?

Yeah, I don’t get that. I think he was attempting to be witty.

I’m sure he meant they jump from one hot item/singer to the next… a flavour of the month sort of thing… he never did say they couldn’t be Riders fans

...I think he meant teenage girls literally jumping over bandwagons, young adult ladies hurdling, over wheeled carts carrying musical troupes....which is utter nonsense, but then again look at his own doctrine....

Yes, he did. It’s implicit in the way he constructed his sentence: he opposed Rider fans, as a category, to teenage girls, as another category, by way of an element (bandwagon-jumping) that is supposedly antithetical to the one group (Rider fans) but not to the other (teenage girls). If you are a teenage girl who is also a Rider fan, his categorizations don’t make any sense, which leaves us no choice but to conclude that he thinks teenage girls can’t be Rider fans.

Thats really too bad. the more teenage girls you have as fans, the more teenage boys you will get. just saying, a long time ago, i was young. and i may have been a little bit influenced on occasion on what i would do by what the opposite sex was doing. what can i say? i was young and week. and THIS JUST IN!!!!! LAYTON HAS WRITTEN A LETTER THE CFL FORUM EXPLAING HOW SOME FEELINGS HAVE BEEN HURT BECAUSE OF RECENT COMENTS MADE ABOUT TEEN AGE GIRLS NOT BEING ALOUD TO BE LABELED AS GOOD RIDER FANS!

…would the grandpa you’re referring to be ex-coach Miller…cuz i think they’ve already headed for the exits
