I don't have any tickets but I guess that McMaster does allow for additional seating for what they say "national events" according to the website. Obviously an ex game or any regular season CFL game isn't a national event but seems it's nothing to do with traffic congestion etc as I thought was the reason McMaster was given for not increasing capacity:
The stadium features 6,000 permanent seats and temporary seating for an additional 6,000 on the other side of the field when needed for national events.

They never even added any when Mac was selling out home playoff games back in 2012.
I understand that Travel. It's just that, as I said, I thought the reason for no more capacity at the stadium other than the current fixed stands was due to concerns about traffic congestion and that with the hospital at Mac and residents concerns. But it seems there are exceptions for a national event that would basically double the capacity according to the website. :?
it’s hard to justify that concern when school’s out tho. (it wouldn’t have been post labour day last year, but that didn’t seem to bother Gelf any…)
(yes i said Gelf)
But McMaster wouldn’t be incurring the cost this time to add seats because this is a Ticats event not a McMaster event. I would assume they wanted a fixed amount of money for the stadium rental not a piece of the gate. If that is the case, they would have no interesting in allowing more seats to be setup. I got my tickets for the game in the mail yesterday.
I suppose this is as good as any place to put this. Interesting interview from Univ. of Guelph. I think Mr. Summerlee mean’t Bell rather than Rogers though :
An exit interview with University of Guelph President Alastair Summerlee
You received a lot of credit for convincing the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to call Guelph home last summer.
I failed to make them stay for two years, which is a shame.
What was it about that project that inspired you to want to make it a reality?
We had the chance and the potential to really improve our own football team. We have the opportunity to upgrade the field and the people locally upgraded the track around it. So, you know, they’re pretty cool facilities. It was just a fabulous way to have it broadcast nationally. Every time the Ticats played a home game, the Gryphon was front and centre on Rogers. It was fabulous advertising for us, and I got on really well with Bob Young from the Ticats. I was just surprised Hamilton and McMaster didn’t seem to have the same kind of relationship. In fact, it seemed pretty antagonistic. And they didn’t have a brilliant reputation for the way they’d interacted with not just McMaster University but with other universities. They were fabulous. They were superb to have here. And I think in the end, what a fantastic thing for the city and the community to have. And it would not have been possible for Bryan Larkin, chief of police. He was very enthusiastic right from the beginning. And then he and the police spent a lot of time thinking about how to manage what was going to happen on game days; where people were parking, how they were going to get out of here, how they were going to behave. And again, of course, the weather played a significant part in that. I think it rained every single game they played. But, I thought it was just a great opportunity for us and the community to have them here, and it turned out to be so. There were lots of ways it could have gone wrong, but I think it was just a great thing to do

Oskee Wee Wee,
Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club
Must be plenty of seats, you can get 7 together still, so I just grabbed a bunch.
Weather looks to be amazing so it should be fun. It will be good to see what Collaros can do, hope he can get the entire first half.
Will the game be on cable 14?
Just wondering, if anyone who "won" in the lottery has receivedd their pre-season tickets yet. I figured they would send them out with the season package which we haven't got yet either. Thanks
I posted here yesterday that i got my tickets in the mail just this week. No season tickets package yet however, just the pre-season game tix.
Bump
I was wondering the same thing… I know I saw somewhere that it wasn’t on TV but I wasn’t sure if they just meant TSN.
FYI - when I spoke to the rep, tickets were $20 for end zone, $40 from goal line to the 30, and towards center from there is $60.
I got them at the 30 yard line, should be a good view, despite a bit of a steep price for a preseason game.
cable 14 tweeted that they aren’t doing the game.

not worth it I’ll go Toronto next week and watch at varsity Stadium
didn't check whether there was standing-room around the field tickets ... you know the type you see in a grey cup game pictures from the 1920s.

And to think they went to the trouble of holding a lottery.
