With all of this talk of new alternate uniforms, it got me thinking as to when this all started in the Canadian Football League. I've been looking around on the internet and have come up pretty dry. I found that the Calgary Stampeders first wore their alternate black jerseys on Labour Day in 1994, but there was no mention of them being the first in the CFL. I'm also curious as to when the first retro jersey rolled out - again the earliest I could see was Calgary wearing 1948 retros, but I couldn't even confirm the year (I'm thinking 1998?). Many other leagues have well documented history of alternate uniforms, but for the CFL it's harder to find.
If anyone has any more information or resources, it would be much appreciated, thanks!
