For sure a short-term optimism and not holding some grudge on a prolonged basis is better, but that’s not always reality. Here are a few examples of many.
It all depends on the people involved who have the power in discussions, so your claim that all memories will be or must be short-term does not hold up though I agree with much of the rest even though I disagree that the NFL will go back to St. Louis before they pursue the looming gold mine that is Europe the way things are trending there for years now.
Of course the war needs to go away there first, and all bets remain off on that situation in Ukraine.
