The worst trade in Ticat history?

People didn't like the Moreno deal or D.J. Flick for Rocky Butler. Another bad one was trading Steinauer, Eric Lapointe, and a first-round draft pick to get O'Shea back, who defected again after one year.

What's the worst Ticat trade ever?

A few in a long line of mismanagement for this team. Another was Niel Lumsden for Bruce Lemmerman shudder.

p.s. don`t forget that Wayne Smith was in the Flick deal too.

Let's be positive for a change. How about the best trades?

One would be the one that ended up being Don Paquette for Hal Patterson, and the other would be a couple of years later trading Bernie Faloney to Montreal for about half the Als' roster.

As for worst, the Troy Davis trade that morphed into Jason Maas might be a candidate for one of the worst trades.......

MORENO TRADE WAS PRETTY DAM BAD!!! SEE HIM IN THE GAME AGAINST EDMONTON LAST WEEK (9 TACKLES AND A SACK)!!! STILL LEADS THE LEAGUE TOO (IN TACKLES) !!! THESE OTHER TRADES ARE HORRIBLE TOO!!!

Tony Gabriel to Ottawa for Terry Wellesley (and some other guy{s}?)

Wait until TillMan gets hold of Obie, he'll play him like a violin.

Flick/Smith for Butler has to be it IMO.

Two starters, both All Stars and both well under 30... for a QB that didnt make more than a handful of starts.

8) The other guy we got from Ottawa in that trade was OT Doug Collins.
He lasted only 1 year with the Cats !!!

    Wellesley lasted 2 yrs with us I think  !!!!             <!-- s:roll: -->:roll:<!-- s:roll: -->

The whole team deal for Jason Maas. I believe that we traded Davis, Monford, and Danny Mac in that same year. Man talk about trading the lifeblood of the team.

The Cats sending Canadian defensive tackle Glen Weir to Montreal. He played from 1972-1984. Was voted All Star five times and was one of the best.

Who did we get for Moreno???

Until you know, how can you say it is a bad trade????

Well the Flick and Smith trade for a guy who didn't even make the roster is pretty bad. No, it's really bad. Who did we get for Damon Allen when we traded him to Edmonton? They've sure got some sweet action off the Ticats the last couple of decades.

Moreno trade is undoubtedly the worst because we got nothing in return. That's what's so bad about it. At least with the other trades we got something tangible even if it was undervalued.

Its a bad trade because we DONT KNOW who we are getting. It should be a player who can play and not some hope down the line. If all you get for moreno is a maybe......down the line prospect......its a bad trade.

I think that the Eskies drafted Mike O'Shea and then traded him to the Cats for Damon Allen.

Don't remember a Doug Collins.
Wellesley didn't even finish 1 season, injury problem, then decided he didn't want a career of pro football.

Yes, that was bad. But I have forgotten, whom did we get for Weir?

THANKS BEET!!! EVEN WITH THE PICK YOU REALLY THINK THIS GUY WILL BE AS GOOD AS MORENO??? COME ON NOW!!!

HOW WELL DID ANTHONY PLAY LAST WEEK??? 2 TACKLES!!! HE CAN'T FILL THE HOLE THAT IS LEFT BY TRADING MORENO!!! AND ALSO THE FIRST PICK IN THE CFL DRAFT IS NOTHING SPECIAL IT USUALLY TAKES YEARS FOR THEM TO DEVELOPE!!!

don't forget that we got Corey Mace....a guy that we may never see in the CFL

Thanks trailerparkboy. You may be right about that. As much as he's despised he did turn out to be a great linebacker - although for another team. Don MacPherson did appear to be a hot prospect at qb so it wasn't absolutely terrible. Still not a good trade though.
