The whinning and crying about game quality is embarrassing!

Nothing genetically inferior, just raw population size and dollars. Canada is a country of 35 million that doesn’t really invest in football. The US is a country of 350 million with an insane investment in football. All those people and all that money produces better-developed athletes who are far closer to being ready for pro football than their Canadian counterparts on average. Nowhere is it more evident than at the QB position. If we want the game to grow, we can’t have teams dressing Canadians who wouldn’t make it without the quota. IMO there are just not enough quality Canadian football players yet (key word) to fill 63 starting positions in the CFL.

No matter how we spin it, compared to previous years, the games have not been entertaining. It has been reflected in lower TV ratings. I am sure the games will improve. With a new team in Ottawa, new stadiums everywhere and the hope of getting NEW fans, it can't happen soon enough.

Let's start off with a great game today for the 2nd half of the season.

There is the talent out there in this country of 35 million. Many go undiscovered and others don’t have the opportunity of proper development. Again, investment into the amateur ranks is the only thing that will improve that. That not only includes players but also coaching and officiating.

Don’t forget , Hockey is the first choice and that draws a lot of potential talent away.

Sure it draws some away, as does basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. But if Canada can supply over half of the NHL (and many other pro leagues) with their players, it sure as heck can supply 63+ in the CFL.

Heck many of the Canadians that have become stars in the league were not even drafted (Rob Bagg for example as well as many others).
