VANCOUVER — A player here this week in Vancouver with a non-participating team was talking about just how long a Grey Cup week can feel for the players in it.
I got the Eastern final right. I said the team with the fewest turnovers would win (didn’t pick which team though). If Winnipeg fumbles as many times as they did in their July loss to the Argos they’ll lose. If Arbuckle throws more picks than Collaros, the Argos will lose. The latter is more probable than the former, so Bombers should be the favourite. Don’t bet the farm in them though.
As much as I hope for a Bomber victory, my concern is the undeniably outstanding play of all three phases of Toronto’s game.
I’m also hoping for a close, well played game by both sides for entertainment sake. To me, even a defensive battle can be exciting.
Now let’s hope for a great Grey Cup by all involved; players, coaches, officials, and TV coverage teams.
Major part of the reason why the cfl is in constant trouble… Ain’t got no marketing happening…by the teams or the league or the entities broadcasting the games
Just like the Stamps from a gew years; when they lost grey cup to under dog teams, Redblacks (2016) and Argos;l (2017) then smartened up to beat RBs (2018); Bombers have been embarrassed last two grey cup; they’l smarten up and win.
But I’ll be cheering for the East; Bombers can never be embarrassed enough.
