Newton Minnowowski and Calgary Stampeders Classics are good YT channels for old CFL games.
One of my favourite pieces of video aside from the 1966 Grey Cup are the 1971 playoffs that are shot on videotape and most of the stadiums still had turf fields (especially Exhibition Stadium)
I don’t watch the panel after the game, sure. But I tape Sportscentre every night, the 1:00 am show, on the website as well, and watch it every morning and that’s how I watch the panel. I look forward to Sportscentre with the CFL panel. Not necessary to watch it right after the game ends.
I like the panel as a concept. Love Kate in her role, and Lapo. Henoc is really good and will be great. Stegal… well I’ve always hated him and his ego. Everything has to be about him. He needs a pink slip. Sanchez, I don’t mind either way, but all the gambling stuff is of no interest to me.
Did at least two posts in this thread get the disappearing treatment without notice.
They pretty much mirrored what the ESPN guy said about why panels are useless and apparently people here aren’t allowed to find out. Is that what happened, or do I have it wrong?
You have it wrong. A post was flagged and reviewed by the moderating team. It was deemed to violate the community guidelines and Code and deleted. A deleted post automatically takes with it any replies, even if the replies weren’t in breach of the Code in and of themselves.
This is how things have always worked and the process helps keep the forum civil and free of inappropriate comments. There is not and has never been a process by which “notice” is given to the forum when a post is flagged. What is then supposed to happen? A public debate on the merits of the flag? That would be an ongoing disaster. The solution is not to make posts that violate forum guidelines.
What was not civil or was inappropriate? I guess that is one of those things where one side with an ideological bent can control the narrative. Oh well, let’s hide truth because we are too fragile to hear it.
No it wasn’t one of those things with any kind of ideological bent, or more accurately, an ideological bent you don’t agree with and can’t stop yourself from commenting on.
The comment was a breach of the forum rules. I know you know what the comment was as you replied to it and more or less commented on its edginess with approval. At least two people didn’t see it your way. One could say that you have been encouraging such a sexist comment since you started the thread.
There is no conspiracy here. Inappropriate comment made. Comment flagged. Comment removed. It happens pretty much every day. It sounds as if you may not have read the Code so I recommend you do if you don’t understand what I mean.
You did see the comment and replied to it. It is not forum policy to post deleted comments for discussion. That would be insane. You will have to take me at my word. Move on please.
You commented on the removed post .
I did not flag it but thought it was sexists also. I also saw your comments . They took were seemingly in agreement of a sexist attitude. 8 did not flag them either.
Here is an opportunity for you read the forum rules.
Also. If you have a girlfriend, or a wife or a daughter or a mother or an aunt or any female coworkers …
Would you want them treated in that way.
If you think treating people that way is fine then I suggest you really ask the women in your life for an honest opinion of your attitude towards them.
Some may actually be brave enough to tell you the truth
What way, be specific. All you are doing is throwing out the usual pejoratives. You might as well dig out racist and homophobe as well. What specifically did he say that was wrong, tell me because I don’t recall exactly what he said.
The fact that some people here refuse to say what the actual specific crime was is scary and very telling.
The panel isn’t about spending the whole time dissecting the game, its entertainment. And that works on antagonists and protagonists. Same as every other panel in every sport.
And based on entertainment value - its OK. 99% of whats shown as “breaking down the game” most people forget by the time they get to the fridge for another wobbly pop for the second half…
I don’t mind the panel concept but prefer it actually be before the game, and the ball kickoff right around starting time vs the 10 mins of yammering they do. NFL 1pm and 4pm games kick off right around scheduled time.
Sports panels in studios during live sports are good though must improve,
too many subscriptions and screens in your life are toxic to your health and general well-being, and
do some good research on YouTube before simply going out to buy a new antenna so you can fix your damn TV.
