Sounds about right to me. They’d never give Homan crushing odds of 94% like I’ve done, just can’t do that in women’s pro curling.
The obvious reason for the short odds was contained for all to see in Einarson’s shaky victory over Black earlier today. Both teams riddled the ice with mistakes - Einarson made one less than Black. Einarson is not even close to Homan in precision, let alone givens like strategy and team polish.
Sounds like you’d have to bet $1000 on Homan to win $100 (your initial bet of $1000 + the winning line). Not very good odds.
If you’re getting 20:1 on Einarson then why not burn a c-note. If things somehow go sideways for Homan, you could pocket nearly $2000.

Einarsons rock placement is quite good early on. They’re forcing Team Homan into tough shots. Homan had to stand on her head to bail her team out in end 3.

Good eye. Homan knows she can’t give up a deuce and is making the requisite double doubles to deny Einarson an early deuce. Good game so far, but the last ends are the deepest.
The first half sets the tone - but with Homan, you’re essentially playing against a remorseless computerized automaton.
Einarson now entering deep water, tied without hammer. Who knows the hell Homan might wreak on her if Einarson team misses just half a shot. So much pressure on Einarson.
Try to hold Homan to a single - but Homan’s enormous accuracy with doubles + triples exceeds anything I’ve ever seen in women’s pro curling.
As much as she was hyped coming into this event, Karlee Burgess has come up a bit wanting. Easily the weakest player on Team E. Big M (Miskew) is destroying her. Might mean Homan hanging up an easy deuce (or even 3) on Einarson at the break.

Homan shooting 100% through 5 and they’re up 1 without hammer. Tracey Fleury needs to step up, she hasn’t been great.

Homan looked a bit perturbed, almost grimacing after Einarson forced her to a single in 5. She knows she’s in a fight now - has to maintain the 100% game, no cracks. Might come down to Einarson trying to squeeze a rare deuce out of a resolute Homan in the 10th.

Took to the 8th end but Homan finally broke Kerri. Einarson missed her roll on her first rock, then was a couple feet heavy on a draw to the pot. No one can withstand the shot-pelting Rachel is laying on Einarson. Wonderful effort though.
How hard is it for Einarson to rack up a deuce? I’d say maybe a 12 to 15% chance vs. that doubles automaton.

It was actually over last end. Einarson just couldn’t withstand the massive pressure put upon her by Miss 100%.
Pretty much how everyone thought it would go. Einarson hung with her for 7 ends - then CRUNCH WENT THE APPLECART

R. Homan leading 5-1 is on her way to be the 2025 Scotties Tournament Champion.
From a positive point of view. Homan gives Canada its best chance at gold in Worlds. Einarson a very iffy affair at worlds.
This one should end 6-1 as Einarson is crushed beyond anything she’s ever felt. She actually thought she had a chance.

Have to watch my boy ‘Tracker’ on CBS. Also taped ‘The Equalizer’ with Queen Latifah for later viewing. Nothing up to The Blacklist or Person of Interest but both very decent free TV shows.
Sloppy play from Emma/Fleury and Kerri has her 2/3 set up.
