the 3 days before the NHL playoffs start. I want some action. CFL really should take advantage of these 3 days. Its their chance to be front and center. Maybe they should have some kind of 3 day camp for walkons and such to show their stuff and televise a lot of it, or something.
pfft. come on...
and let the good times roll
While I agree these three days suck, I would rather my favourite league not try to desperately grab the spotlight for three days while they can like an insecure, attention-seeking teenager.
CFL Calendar
May 3: CFL Canadian Draft
May 12: CIS East-West Bowl
May 30: Rookie Camps Open
May 31 - June 3: Officials Training Camp
June 3: Training Camps Open
June 13: Pre Season Week 1
June 29-July 1: Week 1
I wonder why the East-West bowl wouldn’t be played before the draft like the Senior Bowl in the NFL, gives scouts a chance to see who they want to pick and watch in game experiance.
Lulay inks an extension deal with the Lions.
Hot off the press

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed a trio of import linebackers: Byron Bullock, Alex Joseph and Cobrani Mixon.
Bullock, a 6-0, 212-pound native of Inglewood, California, joined the Ticats practice roster last November after attending training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders earlier in June. In 2010, the South Dakota product made five defensive tackles and one forced fumble in three games with the Roughriders.
Joseph, a 6-2, 240-pound native of Stanford, Connecticut, spent time with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders and Carolina Panthers after posting 253 tackles and 17.5 tackles for a loss over four seasons at Temple.
Mixon, a 6-1, 240-pound native of Cincinnati, Ohio, attended training camp with the NFL’s Detroit Lions last season and was among the team’s final cuts on September 3. Prior to turning pro, Mixon spent four seasons at Kent State, racking up 263 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss and 11.5 quarterback sacks. He was named first-team All-MAC in 2009 and 2010.
Move the draft date? Is May too late? Or does it have some to do with down south?
So…the East-West Bowl showcases players for next years draft (2013), is that right? Or can CFL squads draft the kids that still have college time left? I read somewhere about drafting Juniors…but I think they were talking about a Junior league outside the CIS.
And, the CFL draft is late so it can take place after the NFL draft. This is very important.
Travis Lulay signed here and it was announced during the three days off and it got buried by the Canucks..... Bad time of year for any news in Van anyways.
...Aliens could land in Vancouver tonight and the news at 11 would still lead off with why Luongo was pulled after allowing 2 goals on 4 shots
