Good news quality quarterback-starved CFL teams! The USFL’s New Orleans Breakers have released passing great McLeod Bethel-Thompson! He’s not very mobile but he sure can sling it!
Woo Hoo!!!
Which of our lucky last place contestants will win the MLB Sweepstakes? Will it be the winless Elks? The last place Red Blacks? Or will it be the next to last place Tiger Cats who are desperate to host their own Grey Cup this fall?
Edmonton Elks
Ottawa REDBLACKS
Hamilton Tiger-Cats

I think if he comes back up, Ottawa is the best fit with Masoli gone for the season. Bo Levi is expected to be back so Hamilton doesn’t make sense and Edmonton is a tire fire right now.
no. all of those teams have more than quarterback warts that need fixing in order to be competitive with the other dogs of the CFL pack. Elks coaching and overall team play looks especially horrendous. REDBLACKS entire offense looks terrible. Ti-Cats can’t afford him and their coaching is almost as bad as Elks it seems.
MBT is the sort of dude that wants to win now. he wants to be THE MAN on a team that will carry him. otherwise he’ll just have tantrums on the sidelines. don’t forget it was Kelly who actually won that grey cup game. MBT’s ego will want to play for a contender and get paid.
I can’t see a scenario where he comes up and has to compete for the starter role. He won’t be in Ottawa… I think he will part of a carosel in Edmonton.
Oh, right. My bad. Well consider the title to be one of those classic bait and switch ploys to get you in the door. Don’t think for a minute that I make dumb mistakes like the one I just made.
That’s a very good idea Mightygoose. Shohei Ohtani is making $500 million but I’m sure that we’ll be able to lure him to the CFL with a juicy $50K Global salary which will not in any way put him into another tax bracket. His financial advisor will be completely on board.
If he wants to play for a contender then he won’t be coming back to the CFL unless it’s Toronto or Winnipeg.
If it’s about the cap space then Ottawa is the only team that has a QB that is definitely out for the year.
BLM could be back in another 4 games and Edmonton doesn’t have an injured QB.
Ottawa wouldn’t see him beyond next season.
Ottawa has a lot of talent on the 6 game IR, along with Masoli, - Tyree Adams, Bralon Addison, Shaq Evans, Devonte Dedmon,Money Hunter, Santos Knox and Tevaun Smith
