Wow! .. Sounds like it'll be yet another great show this Sunday at noon, with host Ted Michaels. The line-up is looking pretty good from what I just heard.
Scheduled segments include:
A review of the August 12 game between the Tiger-Cats and the Argos, with interim head coach Ron Lancaster. (discussing the slaughter of the Argos ... hopefully)
"Ask George" a new segment where fans can either e-mail their questions, or call in live, with special guest, the Director of Officiating for the CFL, ...George Black.
Tiger-Cat fans will have a chance to take part in a great new contest, and be a part of history! (that's all I know)
Ted will be talking with the latest in the "Making the Connection" promotion,.. the
Ottawa tandem of Russ Jackson and Whit Tucker.
TUNE IN - It'll be a good one!

Now if CHML 900 could just boost their power a little bit more....lol (you know for us guys out in the "boonies"!)
Last week as I was heading up north I had a heck of a time getting the game when north of Barrie! I stopped on a hill about 60 miles north of North Bay...turned off the engine of the truck and listened to the end of the game thru the static...just long enough to hear the score with a minute left in the game! What a sight that must have been for people passing some guy in a Hamilton TigerCat jersey dancing beside his truck on Hwy 11 in the dark...yup I did it and I'm proud of it!
"Shouldn't Toronto be penalized when Damon Allen throws forward passes (and pretty good ones too) with his left hand"?
(Just kidding - but man oh man!)
I am really looking forward to the "call-in" segment with George Black today....
I'd like to ask him why the coaches can't decide themselves which plays they want reviewed during the course of the game. (seems to me the list of allowable plays which can be reviewed is rather short)
Case in point:
The fumble when Damon Allen was hit, and Coach Lancaster threw the review flag, should have been looked at....I mean, what's the use of having reviews when a huge play like that is treated as if it's insignificant?....that kind of huge play for the defense can be a momentum turner in a game. Replays on TV showed that ball was stripped out of Allen's hand before he went to throw it.
I'm trusting Ted will hit George Black with the tough questions and not allow him to give the usual spin.
Hey!!!!!!!.....Montreal LOST to Calgary last night!

You cant review a fumble that is ruled down? Who would have recovered? Where would he have ended up? Players stop playing when they hear the whistle.
Mikey, the ball was thrown but went backwards after watching about 10 times on TV, it should have been ruled a latteral and a fumble, but theres no way you can review an incomplete pass or a fumble ruled down by contact when you dont have a play being played out to reverse.
The ball went backwards because it was knocked backwards by the defender…ergo----> fumble…Allen’s hand was empty when he went to throw it…
at any rate, it’s clear by listening to George Black that he thinks his officials never make a mistake or if they do, he sluffs it off…oh, now he says he hasn’t seen the tape of the Flick play…but mysteriously he says he’s seen the tape of all the other ones (you know, the ones where we got penalized)…huh?
…officiating will never improve with this guy at the helm in my opinion.
George Black backed his officials on a clear Montreal touchdown out West in Winnipeg I believe.
It was clear as day a TD,...TSN agreed and we saw it in three part harmony clearly in two angles of replays ....YET,George Black backed the offiocials on that bad call in an interview .
No respect from me George.
Just watching the backs of my officials thats all.

I agree with basically eveything you are saying, Black is useless and thats why im not listening to this garbage. All he ever does is talk about how his officials made the right call. At least in the NFL they admit their mistakes by officials.
However, Allen threw the ball. Had it of gone forward it would have been an incomplete pass, it was in his hand as his arm was hit… the ball was then thrown backwards. The officials never stopped to look at where the ball went.
You were talking about the review, i was explaining why you cant review the play, for all we know an Argo could have recovered it and ran for a TD.
If the QB’s arm is going forward, then even if the ball goes backward (due to the arm being hit) it’s still an incomplete pass and not a lateral/fumble.
And yes Crash is right, you can’t review it if it’s called incomplete because the play is dead right at that point.
You were talking about the review, i was explaining why you cant review the play, for all we know an Argo could have recovered it and ran for a TD.
ok...I see what you meant now.....(my 'oops")
the officials blew it either way one can look at it…(fumble or lateral)
Black will make a fine politician one day
(and by the way, I think the call in Winnipeg that resulted in us getting a TD was bogus too (Vaughn pushing off)…just to show I hate bad officiating whichever way it goes)
For or against, the officiating this season hasn't determined the outcome of a single TiCat game this year. It's red herring. Focus on the lamentable team which scores less often at home than the Leafs (or Mr. Bean).
Well ...
First of all the referees are not why we lost, but having said that .....
The refreeing is aweful, and instant replay is not going to fix it only make it worse. It draws attention to the plays and gives us fans a sense that it can be made right. I am losing interest in this minor league quickly. It seems to be getting worse every game. The reason that it appears to work in the NFL is that the refs are reasonably good and the instant reply is a good opportunity to get a very important call correct. If this leagie was to open the scope of the replays up to something beyond what is permitted now (which appears to be nothing), games would last 5 hours .... just like the NFL.
Until they get this fixed, this league is going down him not getting better.
Punter kicks - gets roughed - flag goes down. kick returner is not given 5 yds - flag goes down. Punting team gets ball back - first down after both penalties taken into account - yards marched off from original line of scrimmage.
2. Tiger Cat fans opinion today on CHML
Punter kicks - gets roughed - flag goes down - punt returner is not given 5 yds and - is tackled by facemask by 2 kicking team members putting punt returner out of game - flags go down for facemasking. - 1st down kicking team after yards are marched off from the original line of scrimmage only for the roughing the kicker call. Face mask (roughing) penalty (ies) and no yards penalty are disregarded because they are negated because "roughing the kicker" penalty gets preference and nothing else which happens on the field after
the "roughing kicker" matters.
Any body see anything wrong with picture 2?
I hope all this losing is not driving all the Tiger Cat fans crazy. Please take 2 aspirin and show up for the Labour Day game.
Barney r u kidding me ? The lack of a rouging the passer call on Maas cost us a game and last night i believe we would of scored 14 pts. had those 2 calls been called correctly . If you say they were non calls your on drugs !!!!
Habby, we dont agree on everything but you are dead on with this one. 14 points for sure, and the no call in the Calgary game directly contributed to the loss.
