The Good the Bad and the Ugly

The Good - our defence played great and had some excellent pressure on Calgary all night. Hats off to our new kicker and to Ronnie for using him.

The Bad - Jason Mass is not playing a like Veteran QB and making to many mistakes. Josh Ranik is to slow hitting the holes or misses them completely.

The Ugly - our offence under Joe! I have never seen a team us so much junk on offence. The ball needs to go vertical period!

The Good - Jason Mass is playing a like Veteran QB and making only a few mistakes. Our offence under Joe! Very creative formations and plays. And the defence.

The Bad - Josh Ranek is not getting any holes The O-line has to establish supremacy to get a ground game going.

The Ugly - Untimely penalties and the ball needs to go vertical

The GOOD- We WON and Jason played great

The Bad- missed touchdown with sloppy play

THe Ugly- Box J fans are morons!! Quit chastising our players and get behind them!

The Good - Terry Vaughn's record...Well deserved   The defense also stepped up when they had to (stopping Burris before half)

The Bad - Missed tackles/assignments by the defense. Too many players were trying to take Reynolds legs out instead of dragging him to the ground. Penalties are another issue that still needs to be worked on (getting better though).

The Ugly - What is up with the officiating? I find they're missing offside calls (both teams) and they take an inordinate amount of time to make the correct call. :thdn: :thdn: :thdn:

Jason Maas Yelling Profanity at Fans in Box J
Tom.....we got your point the first hundred times!.....ease up buddy!

So what anyhow!..Maas gave it back and now everyone is whining like babies?..Good on Maas I say!..Ozzy would be proud!

Sitting behind the Ticats bench is an honour and a priviledge…it doesn’t give anyone the right to harrass players while they are in the middle of doing their jobs…

It's a fan's right to chastise players. It is NOT a professinal's right to swear back at them (allegedly).

The Good: Myers, Brooks, Holmes, the defence, Fleming...and Vaughn (awesome YACs)

The Bad: Smith's injury, Peterson's route running

The Ugly: The heat, the dive bombing bugs and that guy with no shirt on!!!

The good We won
The bad Smith’s injury
The ugly The Box J episode

It’s never a fan’s “right” to harass anyone on the bench to the extent the player feels it necessary to lash back…general boo-ing over a bad performance is normal but it sounds to me like some fans went way overboard and tried to bother him personally on the bench while he was trying to do his job…if you don’t like the guy, save it for the forums, e-mail the team or whatever…but don’t harass him during the game!..it serves no purpose and doesn’t help him get better anyhow as it is only affecting his concentration obviously…I’ve had players I wasn’t particularly fond of but man, I’d never dream of bothering them on the bench during a game…

Mass is old school and good on him. Can you imagine home fans getting on Mosca or any of his team mates for that matter? He would've been up in the stands, and would have had lots of help. Fact is some other fan would've straightened the loud mouth out long before it went that far. Dropping your money down for a ticket is not a blank check. People oughta grow up. Good grief, Mikey and I agree about something!

Yes, it is the paying customer’s right to chastize the players. Within reason, of course. If it got out-of-hand, then those “fans” should have been asked to leave the stadium. No excuse for Maas - it’s unprofessional.

Very nice win,i got a little sentimental seeing Ronny on the side line smileing, wow, (didn't know he had teeth). The Tiger-Cat fans are in for a real treat with Holmes getting the ball,he truely is a game maker and finally, thanks for beating what in my oppinion is the most despised team in the league......GO RIDERS GO

THE GOOD: WE WON!! SPECIAL TEAMS AND 'D' LOOKED GOOD.

THE BAD: WE STILL LOOKED REALLY SLOPPY ON OFFENSE. ANYONE REMEMBER THAT SHOVEL PASS INTO THE TURF?

THE UGLY: BETWEEN THE ANNOUNCER AND HIS STUPID MUSIC, ("WHY ARE YOU SO QUIET?"), THE LOSERS WITH THEIR SHIRTS OFF TRYING TO START THE WAVE IN FRONT OF US INSTEAD OF WATCHING THE GAME, AND $8 FOR A BEER...TAKE YOUR PICK.

Yes, it is the paying customer's right to chastize the players
No it isn't.

If a fan becomes disruptive to what is going on in the bench area, the team has the perogative to toss them out…and clearly, someone in particular from the stands became disruptive…

I hope the team gets rid of these no-minds quick as the players don’t need this crap during a game. If the team in general isn’t doing well, then joining in with 28,000 others in a general “boo-ing” is fair…but going after a player specifically in the middle of a game when you know he can hear you is wayyyyyyyyy off-side…

And I don’t want to hear the “well, he’s a professional” crap…the guy is a human being and I hope he does have enough emotions to stand up for himself when cowardly fans are slinging insults in his ear during a game…so yeah, I’m with Maas 100% on his reaction…

Gee mikey, I guess you forgot to quote the rest of the relevant sentences.

Kinda puts thinge in “perspective” doesn’t it?

Of course, I cannot tell you what you “percieve”…

First of all this is my first post so please spare my the usual tripe heaped on individuals for being opposed to your particular viewpoint. That is the reason I haven't posted. This site seems to be inhabited by a bunch of very immature posters from both camps on each and every topic.

At any rate, here's how I see the Maas interaction with the fans. Having sat in the offending section I can state categorically that there are several season's ticket holders that should have their seating privileges removed permanently for their abusive and foul mouthed behaviour. That however is no excuse for any player to turn on the crowd DURING a game. These particular patrons have been there for years and what happens in game 5 of this season should come as no surprise to the players and coaches since it has been allowed to continue unabated for years. Maas knowing this has no reasonable excuse for his behaviour. IMO its just one more excuse for people to carry on and Maas should understand that his tirade can only make the unpleasantness grow in volume and excess. Not a particularly smart move on his part and his only out is to actually apologize to those patrons who really do deserve his contempt.

No “Sigpig”…I was only responding to your statement that fans have a right to “chastize” players…and given the subject, I assumed you meant directly in their ears on the bench…

So, I repeat, no fan has a “right” to communicate directly to a player during a game…if anyone does and the team determines it is disruptive, then the team has the perogative to remove that fan…it’s their party and they determine what’s acceptable…it’s only common sense no?
