The crowd last night (pretty sad)

I just watched bits and pieces of TSN replaying the game from last night. I've got to give the network credit - because they did a darn good job at making it look like a bigger crowd than it actually was.

It is a shame that such an exciting game (other than the ridiculous number of penalty calls) - was only witnessed live by so few fans. Here are some pics I took at various times last night.

You could tell on TV too that they turned up the crowd noise to make it sound like there were more people there. I'm sure the RC also has the piped in crowd noise.
You have to wonder why last season the biggest Argo crowds were for the Ticat games at 28k yet only 17k last night.
So far this year their average is down 6,000 to 7,000 from last year, can they survive until their lease runs out after the 2017 season? or does Braley say "I can't take any more" and walks away.

Rogers Centre Security is Responsible for 1000's of Ticats Fans not going !, :x

We gotta come out in full force on the 25th. Not give Ray any chance to talk in the huddle.

Not our faults Argos have 6 fans and 3 from Hamilton

I've never had any problems having been to every Ti-Cats game at the RC for over ten years. As somebody who lived in Toronto for 25 years and attended likely 1000 games at BMO/RC/ACC over all those years I never had a problem with security and 99.9% of the time when security took action against somebody - it was warranted. A handful of times in all those games have I ever seen what I considered security cross the line.

I don't believe for a minute that RC secutity has anything to do with keeping more than a handful of fans away from the game last night.

One thing I did note. There had been some talk that 7:00PM was too early a start - making it difficult especially for Hamilton fans to get there that early - and since there was no late CFL game last night perhaps they should have started at 7:30PM or 8:00PM. I'm not certain that would have made a difference but it may have some merit as I've noticed the Raptors and Leafs this year have both moved their weeknight games to 7:30PM at the request of the fans who said it was too tough to get to the game in time for a 7:00PM start.

Took my Tambourine said no musical instruments yet I see the Argo guy got his drums inside just saying

I can tell you that Rogers security is exactly the reason I no longer attend games in Toronto.
When people get kicked out for cheering too loud, or taking photos, or having peanuts thrown at them, or even just talking to the person beside them.
Oh, by the way, all those kicked out were TiCat fans.
This happened at a game I attended last year. These were my personal observations.

Why is this thread in the Cats message board? Bad attendance at an arhols game would be on the Arhols fans not us.

Ryan - I guess you must have missed those dozens and dozens of posts HERE in various other Ti-Cats board threads about how Ti-Cats fans would be taking over the Rogers Centre and that it would be like a home game for us.

It wasn't and the pictures show that not only were there not very many Ti-Cats fans there - but there were not very many Argos fans there either - and yet they still badly outnumbered us.

And Ryan I have to sort of chuckle - it seems like any post in any thread that talks about or in this case shows thousands of empty seats - you always have to criticize the post and/or posters? What's with that? It is a very legitimate topic.

Also, Ask the Box J Boys why they refuse to go !?!?

Well the couple of thousand Cats fans there last night had bells ringing and horns blowing throughout - just like the 15,000+ in the EDF last year - and they were all (or at least almost all as far as I could tell) still there, still making noise at games end both last year and last night. If security were kicking Cats fans out for making noise - they sure were doing a poor job of it.

And you love showing everyone how wrong ticat fans were yah? All dozens and dozens of them.

And yes I do criticize, as it should be.

What problems with security? My cowbell did fine! (And it's a real one.... not those little pretend ones)

Huh?

I go to every game in toronto and i yell my lungs out and my wife rings the loud cowbell .I am so loud that some fans move but not a complaint with rogers staff .showed the cowbell to the rogers security staff on the way in and they laughed .even joked with toronto police officers outside gate 11 i said don’t arrest me for being noisy and he laughed and said don’t worry he was a ticat fan

Toronto's just a lousy sports town. They only care about the Leafs... lots of empty seats for Jays, Argos, Raptors, FC, and Bills.

Leafs and only the Leafs for Toronto.

Travelpat you are completely wrong. The security at Skydome/RC is a problem as witnessed by many posts and anecdotal testimonies from Hamilton fans for years. I can assure you I am not a problem fan or a drinker and have travelled to sporting events all over the world with my antique bugle and have never had it confiscated except at the RC. I have never been threatened by hometown fans except at Skydome. I have never been told I was too loud at any sporting event, I was at Skydome. The cost, hassle, and terrible sight lines make it a very undesirable location and many of us have decided to vote with our feet and wallets and not attend those games.
