I’m advocating the CFL create a Fan Favorite Award

The Fan Favorite Award , voted on by fans only, is a special title earned by a player for being the most popular with the fans during the season. There would be a fan favorite per team and one for the EAST and WEST.

So, which Rider player would win it this year?

Not a bad idea, but with Rider fans being what they are, and that’s both numerous and fanatical, not much chance of players of any other team being voted in.

This year? Likely EVERY year … it is a compliment to the fanbase that we have that fear … they are exceptionally “rabid” fans (in the best sense fo the term).

my suggestion is a fan favorite award from each team as well as one for the east and west. A fan favorite would be based upon a players contirbution to the team, his community and across the league. A players stats wouldn’t necessarily make him the fan favorite.

I’m more up for an open ballot for a fan player All Star Ballot. There are already several different all star team selections that are not the “Official” CFL selected commute of voters.
CFLPA, different Media outlets,…

I think that s great and they all should continue.
But a fan only selected team via the official CFL site as well as at games at CAL stadiums. etc.

Would bring more fan involvement and interest to the common fan that attends or watches games on TV with their kids.

Have TSN during TV games and an official team radio show for individual teams also promote and have online access for fans to vote.

Heck have ballots at all Tim Hortons locations for people to fill out and hand in on the spot. While eating their donuts. Lol.

All your sugesstions are excellent we now need the CFL to buy in.

It’s the ultimate young fan interaction.
And it can be done at none or almost no cost.
If ya wanna get the younger generation more interested in CFL again.
Put a fan all star team voting system in place.
